CL/EL Semi Finals Draw | Pool to face Bayern/Real in final

Roma are exactly the type of team Liverpool usually have problems with.

Maybe. I hope.

Nothing can stop the fab 3.

Except Man United

Honestly think Dzeko would give big problems to any defence let alone this Liverpool one. De Rossi will want this so bad as well, more than the whole Liverpool team put together.

Roma have the individual quality to beat Liverpool and are on paper better in many areas of the pitch. But they are also Roma and notorious, inconsistent bottlers. They are Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs combined.

If they get past Roma anything can happen in a one off game.

If Liverpool get to the Final, I'm 100% certain they will win it.
They will beat either Bayern or Real in a one off.
I feel they are probably 70/30% in favour to beat Roma....

The way Bayern officials, fans and German media spinned last years defeat to make it look like refs fecked you over, while you received a non existent penalty in the first game and scored offside goal to take the game to extra time in the second half was hilarious.

You also wanted a second yellow for Casemiro while Vidal got away with this after being on a yellow card.

I read somewhere that fans at Allianz were clapping every time Juventus scored on Wednesday. That alone tells you all you need to know about how this tie will end. Trees will burn again and Bayern will go out and everyone but them will be blamed.

All fine, mate. This time, let US bring the referee, ok?

I remain convinced the Scum are going to win the CL. They will easily put 5 on Roma at Anfield, I reckon. Then the second leg they'll probably win narrowly or have a score draw.

And I fancy them to beat either Madrid or Bayern in a one-off game by simply going for the throat.

Feels like Real always get the advantage of having the second leg at home.
Bayern had the second leg at home against Atletico, Barca and Madrid in 3 of the past 4 years. Got knocked out all those times. Or was that all the referees fault as well, like the Bayern forums are saying?

I don't think Roma are as bad or as easy a game as some of you think they are.

Liverpool should win but how often do we say that about Liverpool and they don't? They generally win the games you don't expect them to and slip up in games they're favourites.

The way I see it - All teams that are in semis have almost exactly 25% prob of winning. Had Madrid draw Roma, maybe Madrid would have higher probability. As of now, they all are equally likely to win the cup. And the finals - is one off game, so i would say its always 50/50.

^^Me too^^
Best way I can jinx them is to go to the bookies tomorrow and lump a large wedge on them to win.... :wenger:

@SteveJ

Are you responsible for all thread title changes on this forum? Every one is usually top notch

Nice draw.

Roma 6-4 on aggregate
Bayern 5-3 on aggregate

The chances are Liverpool don't win this, but why is a win for them feeling so fecking likely just at the moment?
Because you hate them and dread the idea. If you were a Lazio fan you'd probably feel like Roma's name is on the trophy.

I fancy Roma to beat Liverpool over two legs to be honest.

Already spotted a couple of quotes claiming Liverpool are UCL favorites now.

I'll be honest and not saying this due to United bias, but I am getting strong Liverpool-Sevilla EL final vibes. Roma are going to run Liverpool ragged.

Roma isn't beating Pool. They don't have enough in attack and don't have defenders that can handle the pace of the Pool attack. They aren't exactly a park the bus side as people are hoping. Salah will burn them, they sold the fullback that could've coped with him.

I think we can all convince ourself of that feeling and it puts us in a better mental state. Because when you examine all the variables and likelihood’s, Liverpool are overwhelming favourites in this tie. What happened to Barcelona in that second leg had been threatening to happen all season, it just so happened at the stage where Barcelona have struggled to progress from in recent CL seasons. Even with Messi on fire, it’s a severely disjointed Barcelona side that Roma beat and whilst it’ll give them a huge boost, they are in for a huge shock if they think that playing the same against Liverpool will yield success. It won’t.

This is probably one of the rare occasions where it would have been more beneficial for Roma to have the first leg at home, so as to immediately encapsulate the positive wave the fans are on. That stadium is nuts when in full voice, however it pails in comparison to Anfield.

Conversely, City should have lost 2-1 at Anfield and actually perhaps been 2-0 ahead in the second leg at HT. Who have Liverpool beat of note other than them?

Roma have an excellent striker in Dzeko and a very good midfield. They played very well at the Nou Camp despite losing 4-1 and have a savvy manager. Everyone is underestimating the damage they can do.

Worst case scenario would be City PL champions, Liverpool CL winners, Arsenal EL winners, Chelsea FA cup winners :nervous:

I’m not underestimating the damage they can do it’s just not as prevalent as the damage Liverpool can do to them. You have to assume everyone is up for the game, and klopps tactics and instructions trump most peoples, if everyone is on point.

Again, Messi has papered over the Barcelona cracks all season. Liverpool would have beaten them over two legs too.

Somehow, Liverpool get greater credit for beating lesser opponents than Roma.

Liverpool had an easier group, an easier r16 tie, an easier r8 tie than Roma.

It's like those talking about Liverpool being the '2nd best team in the PL' despite having spent 1 single week in 2nd place. It flies against every bit of evidence, and goes for a gut feeling.

Spurs don't win anything as usual?

Goes without saying really

Joking aside though I do fancy Roma to give the scousers a hard time, and if all fails I trust Ronaldo to put a hat trick past them in the final

Arsenal v Atleti
Salzburg v Marseille
@Summit :lol:

I think Liverpool will get Roma and if they make it to the final, anything could happen in a one-off game.
Got so close with my predictions. Just missed that Marseille are at home first.

Draw is crappy news but was inevitable. Arsenal v Atleti should be interesting though.
