Liverpool deserves the utmost respect for their history, their good campaign, their very brilliant coach and how dangerous their forwards are, but in all honesty, I don't think they are a better team than Atletico or Juventus in 2014, 2016 and 2017.

When I watched those teams I always had a feeling their standard game was about always being in control, showing extremely solidity in defense while being lethal in attack when needed. They were also capable of beating very strong teams belonging to the European royalty with great authority. It would've been interesting to see Liverpool face some of the clubs these two teams had to beat in order to reach the finals.

When I watch the scousers it's like they have two faces, even in the same game at times. It's like they have a plan and if everything clicks they are able to dictate the game, but if that doesn't happen, they are prone to suffer a lot. I don't really know how that part works with Real Madrid actually, because in finals they very rarely panick and have a great variety of weapons to counter many kinds of styles. I've also noticed how Liverpool reduce their performance in the last minutes of games. That can be a huge problem against a team that might have guys like Asensio, Bale, Kovacic, Lucas Vazquez in the bench, all of them very physical , either to defend a favourable result or to try going to extra time.

I agree with everything you say. But perhaps unlike the other teams you mentioned Liverpool sometimes only need a good spell of 20 minutes or so to put misery on the opponent and decide the game. That is a team that goes for the opponent's throat once they smell blood.

A final means form goes out of the window. In a one-off game Liverpool can smash anyone so write them off at your peril.

I think there's a lot of serious underestimating of Liverpool going on.. but that is just how Klopp likes he, with Dortmund and now Liverpool the underdog tag is where his team thrives.. no pressure while he can waltz into Kiev as the underdog to try to mastermind a shock of all shocks.
Klopp has been the underdog in finals before and that hasn't exactly worked out well for him.

And in what world is a CL final "no pressure"?

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you're looking for arguments, I can tell you I don't have patience ... but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let your Liverpool sympathies go now, that will be the end of it - I will not look for you, I will not pursue you... but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and
I will ban you...
I hope these skills include banning this influx of scouse newbies who have clearly signed up to gloat if they win ;)

Not sure what your point is in the context of my post?
RM is a behemoth in the champions league. They have won 3 of the past 4 and 12 overall. So referring to them as just the third place team in Spain is not an accurate reflection of their prestige in Europe at present.

I've had a horrible sick feeling for months that "It's their fecking year"..!!

Unfortunately I think Madrid's style of play might actually suit a Liverpool on the counter with their pace. I'm getting ready for a media blackout in case they win. I just couldn't stomach it.

Alternatively Liverpool's approach will be begging for a Bale masterclass.

So much overreaction here...
Real is clearly better in every important aspect (quality, substitutes, injuries, mentality, experience, etc), so if we do win it will be our lads working on 120% of their physical and mental capabilities throughout the whole 90min without break. We'll need luck.

But if we lose, people here will still have a go at Klopp for being a loser. Whatever.

The Klopp thread will explode if we lose.

This forum has an unusually large number of Liverpool fans. Does this always happen before a potential trophy for Liverpool?

Top four and CL final is a very good season for Liverpool whereas a season without trophy for Madrid will be one of their worst season in recent memories. All the pressure is on Real Madrid to win it whereas Liverpool will be playing as underdogs with fear of losing, something which Liverpool loves.

Even though if we want to win, we have to strike earl and then exploit the space on counter attacks but Madrid will get under more and more pressure the longer score stays goalless.

I must say most the Liverpool fans on the caf are sound and its great to have them imo.

I agree ... I just found it weird considering the rivalry ... Almost no Madrid fans on any of the Barca forums.

I for one spend more time on this forum to balance things up a little. I think your own fan forum is usually too biased to give a fair P.O.V. I mean right now on the Liverpool forum everyone has us overwhelming favourites in a tie against Real!

Also this forum has far more activity from fans of other European clubs which I thoroughly enjoy. (Without Having to visit Bayern, Juventus or Madrid forums)

A couple of Madrid mates of my mine have gotten tickets to the Final via a sponsor, but are having a nightmare of a time finding plane tickets to Kiev or a hotel room that doesn't cost more than 500 quid a night. They're contemplating a plane to Vilnius and then a bus. Suddenly Europe doesn't seem so small when I hear what it takes to travel from Madrid to Kiev.

This forum is head and shoulders the best one out there. If RAWK wasn’t so bad I’d use that obviously.

You've beaten City three times this season - you're not that much of an underdog. Its fairly equal

City has proven nothing on european stage so far. They look good on paper, but have traits similar to ours - concentration lapses in defense, lack of winners mentality, poor game management.
Real are not at their best this season, but I'd hardly find anyone who say we have equal squad quality, plus we're in an injury crisis and had only 2(!) fit midfielders in the squad last game. No proper backup to front 3 either.

Almost no United fan on RAWK either.

It's the main reason I post on here & not RAWK. Having a forum full of people who all pretty much think the same way doesn't make for healthy debate & banter. It just becomes a massive echo chamber. I enjoy the challenges that arise on here when putting my views across relating to Liverpool. It's good for everyone to see as many different angles as possible when in a topic discussion. In the 11 plus years I've been posting on here I've seen United win lots of trophies, whereas my own team has just one paltry League Cup to show in that time. So it's not like I'm here on a wind-up/gloating mission :(

I'm not suggesting otherwise. My riposte was to a poster suggesting that someone as low as 4th in the PL could actually win the CL. Was just pointing out their opponents were 3rd in La Liga. I wasn't attempting to accurately reflect their prestige in Europe at present.

Yea, and most of us appreciate the input of rival fans on here as long as you're not on a wum

Gotcha. Didn't you guys finish outside top 4 last time you won it anyway? League position sometimes goes out the window for these games.

It's a bit like Chelsea's "written in the stars" season. Sometimes these things just ARE.
