Players who you think will disappoint at the World Cup

Every World Cup has that somewhat old star or usually good/great player getting past his prime.

In 2014 for example, Xavi and Gerrard come to mind.

I think Mascherano will have a bad tournament.

This is a long shot, but Iniesta could lose his starting place during the competition.

Also, I do not trust Pepe to have a good one and think he was picked mainly due to a lack of options.

Who do you think will perform below their expected standards ? You can pick players below the age of 30.

Going by qualifiers, Messi; Argentina is a horrible team and there isn't much Messi can do.
Kane because it's England.
All the Belgium team, they always have disappointed.

How can the England team disappoint when expectations are zero to begin with. Even if they lose every game I wouldn’t be disappointed.

It's like a game of limbo. No matter how low you put your expectations, England will find a way to squirm underneath them.

Kane.

So much is resting on his shoulders, the poor lamb will never be able to cope with the pressure.

Basing this view entirely on the whole 'it's my goal, it's mine, mine, miiiiiiiine!' stuff in the media.

I actually think Kane will score 3 goals or so vs Panama and Tunesia.

Muller, Diego Costa and Lukaku to disappoint.

They won't be come the start of play. we have clearly the worst English squad in decades yet there are some saying that it's a brave, exciting selection and praising Southgate for virtually nothing.

Kane (will be under immense pressure to produce, but won't get any service)
Hazard (a bit overrated to begin with and Belgium tend to disasspoint and when I've seen them do well it was usually de Bruyne who carried them)
Pogba (don't think France have enough structure to make him look good, will have the same problem as when playing for United)
Coutinho (overrated to begin with and Brazil don't look like they are going to have dazzling attacking play in general)
Probably a couple of Croatian players since they have a fairly good team on paper, but usually mess it up.

Ronaldo, his team is shite and the massive fluke that is 2016 won't happen again.

Rashford. Because the media will build him up to be something really special over these next 3 weeks and explain how the only reasons he's been poor for United is that big bad Jose.

When, in actual fact, it'll be further proven in the tournament that he's bang average.

Given the season he’s had he’ll be on the bench so I doubt there’ll be high expectations

De Bruyne and Hazard will never have a better time than now to show they are more than just club players. Both in their physical prime.

I'm expecting Mane to carry Senegal to the quarter finals and equal their 2002 campaign so if that doesn't happen i'll be disappointed.

For me, it all depends on his roll with the team. For the most part, I think he's been very good when he comes off the bench. But if he's a starter I don't expect much from him. Mind you, I don't see who else on this England team would start on the left...

Mbappe
Hazard
Kane
Pogba

Salah
Messi
Ronaldo

Don't know if they will disappoint that much individually, but their teams won't make it far.

How can he? He is a metronom - nobody blames him for too less goals or the defense. He will not get the blame if Germany fails.

I see that at Bayern - because of the dominance in midfield that at the same time makes it difficult for the offensives as there is no space the midfielders still get sugarcoated even if they do not get the offensives in a position that they can really surprise the opponent with faster passing and side changes.
