it sure is, a big blue brick wall built on theft, intimidation, abuse and murderIt's like trying to talk to a brick wall.

uhuhVery stupid post.
Whatever you hippy. Police departments everywhere are committed to upholding community safety and cohesion by firing bad apples like Stephen Mader. You know, I hate the stories of cops abusing their power in situations like this, more than the ones where they shoot/kill someone.
Because these stories don't show up in the statistics, but these are the most hurtful & impactful situations that cause disarray between communities & police officers.
And they happen, all the time, and have been happening for decades.
So much agenda in here. Beyond boring.
I'll leave you all with your little thread to bitch and moan. It's like trying to talk to a brick wall.
@Skizzo not sure how you do it pal. Wouldn't waste your breath.
Its beneficial in a way. After exercising patience in here, the next traffic stop is a breeze
I learned a while back that very few people in here want any kind of actual discussion. A few genuinely do, and have the ability to do so. Others just prefer whipping themselves into a frenzy. It’s funny that the constant narrative is “cops protect cops and can do nothing right”, when they don’t see the irony in constantly defending anything anti-cop no matter what.
I'm sure you guys have some boots to lick for your afternoon snack.

meanwhile there's definitely nothing at all ironic about this exchangeI've noticed this. The thread isn't willing to engage in any meaningful discussion which makes it less interesting and appealing to post in. Quite ironic really.
It's quite staggering that anyone can defend the idea of trained officers punching a girl in the head. Twice.
What she might have done up to that point is frankly irrelevant. You can scream agenda til you're blue in the face, the bottom line is you're defending brutality.

Who are you talking to here?
Very true. There are two problems with most of these type of recorded incidents: firstly we rarely get the entire story or video of everything that happened, and secondly the people posting them already have agendas they want to pedal. That results in a warped narrative and people end up entrenched in the way they want to see the incident.

Doesnt stop you wumming in the liverpool thread though, wonder why its the case here.
No one is defending it but quite frankly many of the comments in here are ridiculous.
i.e the department that still fecking employs the psychopathsPeople are though.
This is the current events forum mate. Get with it.
Aside from this video let's just clear up a few things..
If a membe of the public was kicked and spat on would I expect them to stand and take it? No. I'd expect them to defend themselves, and if that meant punching someone in the face so be it.
Can a police officer punch someone in the face? Yeah. They can pretty much do whatever they want providing the use of force is reasonable, proportionate and necessary. That also includes the use of pre-emptive strikes.
I really wish people would stop generalising with comments like 'they can't do that' and 'they can't do this' when to make such a statement you have to know the FULL circumstances. It's rather silly and naive.

You & shatner primarily, since you find it justifiable for cops to punch people in the head, while they are being held down.
Then turn around and call everybody else ill informed.

Yeah well don't. Especially when you know nothing about me or what I have or haven't done.
The majority of you seemingly have no understanding of the law. This is obvious. I've not defended anyone specifically simply pointed out that comments such as 'cops can't punch people' are total fiction.
I've offered no specific opinion on the footage other than any opinion based on a clip of video has to be mindful of the full circumstances.

Ironically, i'm a lawyer.
So you shouldn't go around saying people have no understanding of the law.
At what point did I say you had no understanding of the law?
dude we can readNo one is defending anyone. Without sounding arrogant there's clearly a total lack of understanding by the average person regarding use of force legislation and I'm simply trying to educate some of the more ill informed posters.
Why is the media making an issue out of this then since in your opinion the cops acted perfectly morally and within the law? Why is nobody from the police department going but guys we are allowed to punch people and you guys just need to have a better understanding of the law.
At what point did I say you had no understanding of the law?
You simply waded in and began throwing insults around because you didn't like what I was saying. Very unprofessional allowing your own bias to influence opinion.
