The state of this England team is a bit depressing all round.Think of it more as a test rather than Welbeck being ahead of Vardy. Welbz is failing and falling over as per usual, expect Vardy to come on next time.

MUTVWhat channel is the Belgium game on?
I think someone has drugged Kimmichs porridge.Arranging pre tournament friendlies with Germany is the surest way to give your Nation some confidence.

Stones showing glimpses why his City career is stalling out
I don't understand it. The players on the pitch are playing in some of the best clubs in the world (Man City, Bayern, Chelsea etc.) and when they have to play just one game against any mediocre opponent without Kroos holding their hands, they fall to pieces. Other national teams manage just fine without Kroos, just overpowering their opponents through sheer individual quality
You can't even say nobody cares about friendlies like it is usually the case, all the players here should be running their asses off for a spot in the squad / starting eleven
1-2 now ffs
Hope you’re wrong, but a sound bet at this point.I'm confidently predicting a massive howler from Stones that costs England a win. He looks ready for a full mid game meltdown.
It's not so much that Kroos is missing, but that this is the only time these combinations of players will be on a pitch together and even if something is wokring out decently like the Khedira+Gündogan midfield Löw just rips that part out and replaces them by a Goretzka/Rudy combo that's bound to "disappoint", because these matches aren't about winning for him and thus they aren't for the players either. On the other hand Austria seem to treat this as some sort of final, Fans whistling, players and coaches celebrating goals like they've won something, etc.
It is not just that. Look at the friendlies Müller played - there is only one or two friendlies that we lost during his match time - some he saved when he came in. Kroos is probably a similar story with the stability he brings into the match even if I think that sometimes playing him makes it more difficult to score as we lose the ball less and therefore there is less moments to break. But with him we usually have the dominance and that somewhen in the match pays out. The ConfedCup was not a blueprint because that was an up and down the field with a lot players on the field that are good on the break.
But that is not even bad. It brings tranquility into the team. I remember that Kroos after the match against Brazil told that if players wanting a starting spot they have to show that in this matches but did not. Seems that some in the second row had too big mouths...
Belgium look so poor, no idea how this group of players can play like this. Not sure why they're not pressing us either, they're just letting us pass the ball around instead of taking control of the game.
Fonte has been crap in China but put him next to Pepe and he looks decent enough. I think he'll end up being the starter, Lukaku is a difficult job for anyone and he's done well.

Didn't know Carter-Vickers was American. Guess you learn something new every day.
He’s born in England but eligible for US too. He never got called for England so got snapped up by the US. There are a few in the youth system at the moment playing for both England and the US.
