Tough call. In slow motion, I was convinced it wasn't a shove but watching it back in real time, it probably is a foul. Could go either way.
Firmino should be playing ahead of Jesus. I maintain my opinion, Jesus is very overrated.
Thing that stands out to me in this game is not t neymar being a lightweight, its jesus. His movement is really bad.
The defender reaches back to feel where he is and he gently pushes him off. Bet you'd be fuming if your team had that goal disallowed- very soft.
you would expect a centre back to be stronger in that situation. He was looking for it and lost out

Think they'll change back to 3 central midfielders after this. Danilo has really struggled at RB aswell, constantly getting sucked into the ball and leaving space behind him.

What went on?
There is no way Depay is a better player than Firmino. He wasn't then, when Firmino was scoring goals for fun in an average team in a much better league than Eredivisie. And he certainly isn't now, when Firmino scores in CL semi finals and Depay does it against Ligue 1 opposition.
The difference in technical level, pressing, game intelligence, effort and movement is so vast, I don't know how you came to the conclusion that Depay is better than Firmino.
Or it is their first game and no need to put all energy out yet.

I think it's more just they're a good side but not the best side, and theres not really a clear favourite in the tournament. All have their strengths and weaknesses, with nobody clearly above the rest.
If he was shot in the head his natural reaction would still be to go down clutching his ankle

I don't disagree but it is obvious that Brasil is not playing at their top gear here. I don't know if it is a good thing or not. But you can hardly conclude that that's all they have from this game so far.
