Eight changes to the England team. Stones, Pickford, Lingard remain.
It's because they spent the last 10 minutes doing nothing, dodging tackles, and not even trying to score, despite losing, even though 1 goal from Senegal would put them out. Take matters into your own hands and get the draw and it doesnt matter if Senegal scores. Would have loved it if Senegal tied it up just to see the regret on Japan's faces for faffing about.Would you feel any differently if it was goal difference or goals scored instead of yellow cards?
Yes we are.So Poland is utter shite innit
What was cowardly exactly? Did what they needed to do.That was pretty cowardly and disgraceful from Japan.
Hope the English/Belgium rip them apart.
But why didn't Poland do anything then? It's because they spent the last 10 minutes doing nothing, dodging tackles, and not even trying to score, despite losing, even though 1 goal from Senegal would put them out. Why are the BBC pundits so adamant in calling Japan embarrassing? They just qualified doing what they had to.
Why didnt Senegal score? Or why didnt Poland try and attack to make it 2 nil?
Japan have nothing to push for in that situation.
If Japan conceded another goal in that game, would they have gone out then??
What was cowardly exactly? Did what they needed to do.
The reaction to Japan is laughable.
People would be fine with it at 0-0. Why does 1-0 down and qualifying change anything?
It's the fact that they rolled the dice and decided to do nothing and just hope Senegal doesnt score vs Colombia and hope for the best. That's not doing what you need to do. That's taking the cowardly approach. Poland wasnt doing shit anyway, you go for the draw and you put matters into your own hands.Japan well within their right to do what they did. A place in the KO of the World Cup was at stake FFS.
Avoided conceding anotherWhat exactly did they *do*? Lost by one? Good job, coach.
It's embarrassing and it's cheating the match going fans out of what they have paid to see.Why are the BBC pundits so adamant in calling Japan embarrassing? They just qualified doing what they had to.

Dunno. Some people seem to think winning, or in this case getting through isn't the most important thing in football.

It’s pragmatic but they’re through at the end of the day. It's the fact that they rolled the dice and decided to do nothing and just hope Senegal doesnt score vs Colombia and hope for the best. That's not doing what you need to do. That's taking the cowardly approach. Poland wasnt doing shit anyway, you go for the draw and you put matters into your own hands.

Kane injured or rested ?
So what was so awful about it?What exactly did they *do*? Lost by one? Good job, coach.

Japan was losing 1-0 but were going through because of yellow cards as Senegal was also 1-0 down. If Senegal scored, they would be out. If Japan scored, they were through irrespective of anything. They decided to roll the dice and dodge out of tackles, and do nothing but pass it between the defenders at walking pace and just hope Senegal didnt score. That's not what football is about IMO.Can someone explain why there's outrage over Japan? I'm at work so haven't seen the games.
If that's what gets you qualified, then yes, good job. Why risk conceding another and going out when the most likely scenario was that Senegal weren't going to score? What exactly did they *do*? Lost by one? Good job, coach.
Throwing players forwards trying to score inevitably leads to a higher risk of conceeding more goals. If they had done that and Poland scored again, I'm sure the Japanese fans will be calling for the head of the manager. It's because they spent the last 10 minutes doing nothing, dodging tackles, and not even trying to score, despite losing, even though 1 goal from Senegal would put them out. Take matters into your own hands and get the draw and it doesnt matter if Senegal scores. Would have loved it if Senegal tied it up just to see the regret on Japan's faces for faffing about.
