Day 15: Japan vs Poland, Senegal vs Colombia, England vs Belgium, Panama vs Tunisia

Colombia was great vs poland, but it looks like James is injured again and they didnt look special against senegal without him

Fair enough, didn't see the game, and yeah, if they're missing James then it's an easier task.

But they're a good team. And as I stated earlier, In my opinion they're technically a better team than England. And press better.

It will undoubtedly knock any momentum the team has built.

I'm in agreement with this.

In fairness to Southgate, I think he was right to make changes. This England team could beat this Belgium team. He might have expected some of those who came in to play better and stake a claim for knockout stage. Nobody has really though

Southgate has annoyed be a bit here. The momentum has been killed. If it stays like this I can definitely see Colombia beating England and Belgium spanking Japan and Gareth looking like a complete arse.

With an entirely different first 11 and an actual incentive to win. Great logic!

I can’t figure out what both teams want from this match, got a feeling last 10 mins Belgium will gift England a goal or a chance to level like a penalty, but England will want to miss that too.

Sneaking feeling that will happen too.

But will England attack and go in search of a goal?

How can anyone tell anything about anyone with wholesale changes?

With a few tweaks you could tell if Rashford will deal with the service he'd get from the first team or other players making like-for-like but this is stupid just to give everyone a game.

Why is Delph even in the squad in the first place if he has to fly back to be with his wife? It's not like he hasn't known about this commitment for 9 fecking months

The worrying thing about that Rashford finish was I don't think it needed saving anyway.

Looked like it was heading wide.

He's tried two curling shots so far and got both badly wrong.

Yep. Question marks for rose over young but rose has been poor. Dier has been poor if compared with henderson. As much critism as sterling gets hes better for the system than rashford or vardy

Yes. There are so many pundits who are on the Rashford hype train. He's not done anything to deserve being hyped up so much. And this style of play doesn't really suit Vardy. He might be a decent option late in games.

Welbeck on, Southgate wants to make sure England don't score

They should try and win the group! Japan is easier than Colombia. It’s arrogance to look straight to the 1/4 final.

No it's smart! If we can't beat Colombia its irrelevant. If there is half a chance of winning world cup you do what you can to maximise odds.

No one is underestimating Colombia and no one is rigging the result to play them. Both teams have made wholesale changes and the game and England's performance is just flat. Will be back to first team for next game.
