He wasn’t caught 4 times. He’s been dispossessed just twice and that’s because Giroud is not making any intelligent runs.

I would have to review, but I seem to recall his first two involvements wound up with him losing the ball, and then there was a terrible attempt at holding off the opponent where he lost the ball later in the half, and then that run down the wing. That's just going off memory.

The one where he was attempting to shield the ball and failed he definitely had plenty of time and options, and he was faaar away from Giroud, so putting that on him makes no sense.

It's not as if we've not become incredibly familiar with Pogba doing that most matches for United either.

It doesn't off-set him mostly being an incredible asset for his team, but it is something he could easily do away with and which would benefit him and the team.

Edit: checked out the start of the match again, one of the "dispossessions" I recalled was a shit attempt at flicking the ball to a team-mate and instead giving it to an Argentine player a meter away from him. Fair enough, so he lost possession at least 3 times in situations where he insisted on dwelling on the ball. I still stand by the point that he does it too often for my liking.

And to re-iterate, yes, he's been great this match and I think he's a great asset to United as well.

The way this is going, I wouldn't be surprised if Argentina equalise.

France at least in good position again now, 4-2 and game is done. Just hope they don't just sit back on the lead again. Argentina already a player less in central midfield now.

i don’t normally care for players outside Utd, but can’t help admiring Mbappe. Just so good and only 19!

Jesus christ Mbappe
