Day 17: France-Argentina, Uruguay-Portugal.

They need to keep supplying Messi otherwise it's hopeless. Their wing play has looked like they are out of ideas.

So does Sampaoli get the blame here or did Messi/Mascherano handle team selection starting from the Nigeria game?

Have you been watching the game? Individually they might be fine but the team is awful.

But that doesn't mean anything. The argument they keep making is that everybody around him is crap, not that they can't play as a team. Individually they are better/on par with Portugal yet nobody says a single thing about Ronaldo being surrounded by crap

What on earth was that attack by Argentina? Literally no players were open near the box.

Probably because Portugal has a functioning manager and a bit more desire as a result. Argentina are just flat, no chemistry.

Most likely. The biggest question seems to be how long Neymar will be able to hold him off after the big two finally come to the end. Especially interesting with them both in the same team. That dynamic will be interesting in a couple of years.

Neymar is 7 years older than Mbappe.

His potential is frightening. Only shame for me is he'll play in Ligue une for much of his career as PSG won't sell him willingly.

According to Lawro it's everyone else's fault that Messi has done jack shit.

Its ridiculous. I love Messi as a footballer (still prefer Ronaldo for bias) but the way people make excuses for Messi is incredible - for Ronaldo if he doesn't score a hattrick then he's shit.

Did I hear that right...Messi has never scored in a world cup group stage game
How can he be the best of all time? Ahead of Maradona, Pele and the likes. I'm sorry but the more you hear facts like these the more you start to wonder.

Has Pavard been linked to any big club so far? Would be a brilliant buy for us!

What? Pogba has been incredible in this game. Mbappe has been sensational too but it isn’t night and day different, Mbappe with the great finishes and flair. Pogba with the controlled midfield game and superb passing setting up the situations for the goals.

What if Uruguay beat Portugal? Argentina are no better than them as a team so both guys are fighting an uphill battle.
They have better players, significantly better players. This weird agenda that Argentina are as shit as Portugal has become very tiring.

And if Ronaldo has as a bad match as Messi and they get eliminated, I think it is fair to keep Pele as the GOAT. Comparable to Messi/Ronaldo for his club, but way better in international football.

That's right, Pele had just as shit a team as Messi. No question.

Argentinian body language says it all
They've given up .. long ago.
