Day 17: France-Argentina, Uruguay-Portugal.

The real problem is the Argentina Football Association. They are a very corrupt organization and the reason Messi retired from international football a couple of years ago. Any association that hires Maradonna to be their coach in a WC has some serious problems.

I think honestly if Maradona was any other nationality and he wanted to coach their national team he'd have been picked.

Great players don't make great coaches (and he's a terrible coach) but emotion and sentimentality play a huge part in decisions like that.

I thought Messi would have been enough after his display against Nigeria, but man, Sampaoli fecked it up again by playing without a striker. They deserved to go out.

Ricardo starting instead of Cedric. Nice. But he should have had minutes in the group stages. Quite savage to start him in the KOs but Santos has to have his scapegoat.

Unless Ronaldo comes up with something remarkable then I think Uruguay will have this quite comfortably tbh.

Oh yea you are the one to say this. Blinded by the love of a player.
Your argument are absolutely based on facts and present the absolute picture. What happened in that last group match was pure lies by the commentators and whoever saw that. You won ...
Yup. You're 12.

Yup, I think Uruguay will frustrate the crap out of Ronaldo and company.

Amazing that both Messi and Ronaldo will be knocked out the same night:D

Expecting Uruguay doing the job, they are overall better and their strong defense is used to Ronaldo’s tricks.

Portugal will win, winning mentality and a team that won something in the past is important. People overrate Uruguay, they had a piss poor group. Will be a close game, but Portugal will win it, Euro 2016 style

How old is Godin?
Can we sell Smalling & Jones to finance his arrival at OT? Our young defenders(Bailly, Lindelof, etc) need the expert guidance of Godin to become world class. We can do with Bonucci too.

I think Portugal will win this. I've always said that they are a tournament team like Germany before this WC debacle and if you look at all their past eliminations, they were knocked out by the big teams and I wouldn't classify Uruguay as a big team exactly. Portugal is extremely resilient and they have a never-say-die attitude and is always hard to beat. This game has 0-0 written all over, with penalties and red cards. Portugal will edge this. Good luck to our resident Portugese/Portugal fans.

Was wondering why it looked like a Portuguese player was lined up with Uruguay.

No Portugal fans in the stadium? They usually make a big noise at the euros.

All white kit  closer to our origins just missing the blue!
