All the old Yugoslavia members have produced highly talented sportspeople and a striking number of beautiful people I have to say having traveled through the region. Good genes, healthy living, outdoors lifestyle.
Having said that I think that Croatia have been rather disappointing in these 2 knock out games.

Not sure if it's the coaching tbh. The kids live football though to a bigger extent then most normal countries I think. It's weird though you have some other football mad countries with a large population who are pretty average and others who are always quality with a small pop. Bosnia/croatia/Serbia all have a lot of quality for how small each country is.

I guess it depends on the coutry's legacy. Serbia, Greece and Lithuania are focused more in basketball for example. Even the tiny Slovenia managed to win the European Competition in basketball last year. Chezchia, Bulgaria and Romania was producing alot in the 90s-00s.
