Let's all Laugh at England

Who could have possibly seen this coming?

Picking CBs because they're "a bit more composed" and "can pass better" might end up with bad defending. If you dont pick good defenders, you cant expect good defending. Southgate got what he wanted.

I hope everyone learned today what should have been obvious from the start.

3rd place match for the Three Lions.

They lifted a nation in the midst of Brexit madness and they made their country very, very proud. Congratulations to the England Men's National Team. Enjoy the future expectations.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: delighted!

Only 2 hard games they player they lost both.

No it’s just them getting their own back after threads were made mocking every other country

I think some of them are fans of countries who are too shit to even go to the World Cup. So all that's left is to laugh at England.

the moment they met a half decent side....

Think it's a bit harsh to laugh at them. They've had a decent tournament. My analysis of where it went wrong for them here, in a spoiler since it's quite detailed.

:lol:

No one expected them to do anything this WC but they made it to the semi's. They did themselves and our country proud.

They can come home with their heads held high.

Because of the draw. Colombia without their best player and then Sweden in the quarters ffs.

Hate England but support an English club? You absolute cretins.

It's been the case with a lot of United fans for a while. Particularly after Beckham, the Neville's and Ronnie were scapegoated in 98, 00 & 06.

@Alex99

Had some spare time at work

Let’s be honest, England should be beating that Colombia team, and easily beating Sweden or Switzerland.

Anything less than the semi finals is a failure for this squad. I can see England beating Spain, but not Croatia who I think might just win the whole thing.

Seems harsh to laugh at what is little more than a decent side. Laugh at the fans/media sure have at it.

There isn't much to laugh to be fair. It would have been hilarious if they lost against Colombia in pens (like we all expected and they almost did), that would have been so hilarious. But losing against a better team, in semi finals, a stage that I think pretty much every Englishman would have been happy to before the World Cup started, is nothing to be shamed. This is hardly Iceland, or finishing bottom like in last world cup.

A very good job from Gareth Southgate, for the first time in a very long time, England is again respected. The team is good and young, it could get better with some improvements (a better midfield, Harry Kane to realize that he is a great striker and a shit midfielder), they can be one of the top favorites for the next Euros.

I'd love to post the pop-corn gif but it's not really appropriate.

You beat whatever was put in front of you, including hard to beat teams like Colombia and Sweden. However, Southgate lost this game when Croatia controlled the midfield and he did nothing about it from the second half all the way to the end of extra time.

They can feck off after the abuse Beckham got and all the times England fans sang “stand up if you hate United”.
