Let's all Laugh at England

I'm not even English but if you actively root against a team with like 4 United players in it then I really don't know what the feck are you doing and no amount of playing with words is going to change my mind.

Nice, hope you get your like

Can't really understand the shock that some people have to know that foreign United supporters don't support England National Team. Why is that a shock? Were you going to support France vs England because of Pogba, Or Belgium because of Lukaku? Did you guys supported Portugal because of Ronaldo? I still remember the wink drama.

It just looks that you are mirrowing your national team dissapointment to foreign fans.

There were lots of reasons for rooting against england.

1: Typical English Fans behavior when outside of their country
2: Most of the biased commentary on Itv and BBC
3: The ikea trashing
4: The Ambulances trashing
5: The feeling that a team that doesnt win nothing were acting like a top class winners of all time
6: All the laughs at created in this forum for other national teams

See, lots of reasons. We can never mix Club football with National team football. I will always root for Manchester United has my second club but i will never root for the England national team

1. Typical English fans = a small minority of "fans"
2. ITV and BBC are British, bias is to be expected. Watch another channel.
3. A few idiots. Portugal has them too.
4. See 3.
5. I haven't seen any examples of this at all
6. In which citizens of many other countries all laughed too

I don't mind England being laughed at at all, but your post is shite Bruno!

The first part of your post makes no sense. We support a football club not a list of individuals.

I have no issues with anybody supporting United regardless of where they are from or who they support. I follow the NFL and support the Philadelphia Eagles, never been to Philly or America, I chose them as I knew I would need to follow a team to really get into NFL and thanks to the TV program it's always sunny in Philadelphia.

Not has diferent has "you need to support england if you support x english club"

As for your 6 points. 1, 3 & 4, judge a whole nation based on a the action of a few? How ridiculous. So every Portuguese person would break into there OWN teams training ground and attack players? Because about 50 of them did it to Sporting Lisbon?

It's not a judging "thing". It's a support one. Those atitudes will rub people the wrong way. Like in Portugal everyone turned against that specific faction of portuguese guys. And we are not talking about this year. We need to talk about all those years. For long time the supporters from England national team where the least desirable of them all

Point 2... National broadcasters being biased towards the nation they broadcast in? Go figure.

You can support your country without having a biased opinion. I will never say Portugal was the best team in Euro 2016

5.. Who is acting as if they are winners all the time? The team or the FANS who want to see there nation succeed?.. This was the first international tournament in years where it felt as if England where finally playing with pride and could go far.

You can never divide a club or national team from their fans, and you also will have to handle the "history" and political part in the countries evolution. That's why the biggest rival national teams are close geographically or had political problems.

6.. Again, it is an English based forum? What do you expect? Are you against the threads ridiculing City, Arsenal, Liverpool etc?

No one is asking / expects a Portuguese person to cheer for England, but as above your 'reasons' for rooting against England seem a bit flimsy eh?

I dont have anything against the threads. I just wanted to show that if a laugh at thread is allowed for other countries it is also allowed for England. You shouldn't take it that hard when people make fun has everyone did on other threads. Dont know if it is a english forum or not. It looks really international to be fair. I didn't state those were my reasons to root against England. The only reason i rooted against England was to see the outcry here. :D

The mods over on r/soccer had a meltdown as well last night. Proper ‘toys out of the pram’ stuff. The English saltiness over this result knows no bounds and their transparent faux ‘Nobody likes us, we don’t care” attitude makes it even funnier.

The way Pickford mouths off when anyone challenges him, it’s like he’s trying to instigate a square go every time. Just has one of those faces.

Trippier likes to whine aswell, and is one of the spurs players who likes to leave the boot in when they are getting beat. He’s definitely the most likeable of that group of 5 though.

Pickford screaming at Mandzukic last night really rubbed me the wrong way. It isn't like he was playacting. He fecking clattered him. It was great goalkeeping but it was also a borderline penalty and probably would've been had any one other than the keeper made the challenge.

Trippier loves a dive. He, Kane and Alli were at it all tournament. Kane especially. No coincidence what they all have in common...

Aren't all the people who use reddit 15 years old? What do you expect!

Yeah I seen that. Apparently one of the mods starting deleting/banning tons of stuff in a right strop.

Funny that the meltdown on reddit (which is for 15-year-olds) was identical to the meltdown here by many English fans, yourself included.

Has the irony struck you yet?

Obviously the term in itself is very vague, so what constitutes a meltdown in your eyes?

Kind of funny how many Englishmen at one hand pretend that 'it was all irony, and they never thought that they were going to win it' while at the other hand get all salty when other people make jokes for England getting eliminated. They should decide if they cared or not.

It was definitely irony to begin with but then once England beat Sweden it became serious I'd say.

Either way there's no point in being salty about it but that's natural from any sort of football fan.

.

That was really unsavoury from Pickford alright.

I think every English person on here can take a joke, it's the toxic stuff that has got people backs up. We should all be friends on here, majority support the same club, so it's kind of a bit jarring the amount of unbridled joy some have taken in others misery.

No they can't.

Great match, great result, happy days. Looking forward to Sunday now, will be backing the underdog. May those bells continue to ring on and on

There are a few English people in here who deserve some credit for taking it the way it should be taken. @12OunceEpilogue is for sure one of them.
The others who try to claim that "it's all in irony and no arrogance" while getting riled up and claiming people aren't United fans if they are having fun because England lost is pathetic and absolutely having a meltdown.

Kind of agree with the first point.

About second, there is no point being salty full stop. I love football to a large degree because of banter. If other people get salty, then those who are doing the banter will just do it more, not be politically correct and respectful. By being salty you're just giving ammunition to other people to joke even more.

Yeah I'm happy to hold my hands up and say I had maybe a 15 minute drunken meltdown after the game when I stupidly clicked this thread and made a throw-away comment about how people taking joy in this shouldn't consider themselves United fans. I did apologise for it and recognise that the nature on here from pretty much everyone is just a laugh. There has been the odd post on here though that makes me think some may have a deeper dislike than just for the England national football team though.

All in all, I have actually enjoyed reading this thread. A classic.

Yeah I fully agree there's no point in being salty when your team loses for the same reason you said. I just see it happens with all football fans generally and isn't unique to England fans alone.

It's a good quality to have. Being vocal was one of Schmeichel's (original) biggest qualities.

exactly. Schmeichel did this exact same thing every game. It makes me wonder hoe much the people saying this kind of stuff really know. What did Pickford do? made a great save and a fair challange and then told the guy to get up and carry on (i know exaclt what he said). Fair enough. Mandzukic had tried some play acting before hand. If a United keeper didnt act like that, id be worried.

Oh, certainly.

Better to put a false bravado than 'why nobody loves us?!' though.

This. Also, was the Sporting fans recent behavior an indication of how all Portugese fans react and was it a something that should be used to judge all portugese football fans?...no...

I'm not having a pop at you for not wanting England to win or enjoying the loss or even winding up others based on the result. If I had issues with being able to take football banter I wouldn't have logged on here today.

I didn't mean to state it's an Dngland forum, my point was supposed to be an English based team so there is likely to be more England supporting fans. As I said I have no issues with anybody supporting any club from any nation. I hate being told I can't support a club for X Y Z reasons.

I've only got an issue with other issues being used as a reason to have a dig at England fans. I doubt there are many England fans on here that would praise the idiots out smashing up Ikea or Ambulances. I also don't like the Idea of mixing any other agenda's in with my football support. I watch football to enjoy the football, that's it. Not to talk about England as a nation and what they've done in the past.

I hope you haven't taken my post as a dig at you as that was not my intent at all. I just read your post as 'I hate England fans for these 6 reasons'.

Anyway being a 'newbie' this is my 5th post today so will likely be the last on the matter! Have a good day ya'll :D.

This. Also, was the Sporting fans recent behavior an indication of how all Portugese fans react and was it a something that should be used to judge all portugese football fans?...no...

That was beyond the pale yet on people on here (supposedly) get infuriated by some duvets getting trashed in Ikea. Someone think of the linen for Gods sake.
