How am I assuming anything? Everything I've said can be verified. Scouting reports, stats and watching games from Fred and Dalot will tell you what I've said.

Di Marzio linked us with Mandzukic and Aurnatovic. Aurnatovic basically confirmed the Di Marzio rumour by saying he's honoured to be watched by Mourinho. There was a report from an italian newspaper not known for transfers that we have already bid for Bonucci in the past week. Simon Stone from BBC has also confirmed in a tweet about the Blind transfer fee that we are still doing work in the market.

There is a large amount of evidence that we are going for one player each in the defense and attack. That's not an assumption but something backed up.

You are assuming that everything you are reading is legit when we know media build a big part of their news based on nothing. They even go as far reading forums and create articles based on what some members imagine in their fantasies.
We have seen many supposedly strong rumors turn out to be false in the end.

Umm...2 days after the Simon Stone tweet Blind was confirmed as leaving. This isn't some random journalist, Simon Stone is one of the most reliable in the industry.

Just because someone can be wrong doesn't mean it's an assumption. Something is an assumption if it is based on no solid evidence. There is solid evidence that we are trying for more players from Journalists with a good track record.

It is no longer an assumption when it is confirmed indeed but if there isn't one yet, it is just that, an assumption. Journalists with great credibility have been known to make mistakes in the past. My point is that we are all assuming, as simple as that. Up until the last second, any deal is still in the air.

You have taken the Allison rumours as evidence that Liverpool are trying to do something logical...then rubbished any evidence pointing to United going after more signings as assumptions.

It's a complete double standard.

How does any of this disqualify Klopp from being a hypocrite? You are clearly missing the point. He said he doesn't need to spend large sums of money on players to make his system a success, 2 years later he does entirely the opposite. The guy is a hypocrite.

And he has very yellow buckteeth.

Nah that is the thing, I haven't rubbished anything on the United front. I am on the fence there, I only truly gave a proper opinion regarding Liverpool
 
 
Considering the money they are spending, surely anything other than challenging for the league is poor.

Within 6 months they’ve signed the most expensive CB in the world, and most likely the most expensive Gk, on top of splashing 80 odd million on midfielders.

Klopp made out he had no money and even if he did he would do things differently. Complete and utter rubbish. He's broke the world record for a defender and is trying to do it again for a goalkeeper. He should just keep quiet instead of embarrassing himself.

I don’t think he’s ever made out that FSG have no money to spend on players.

He underestimated inflation in the market and got caught out when prices went up, meaning he had to start spending more money. He was naive to think that he could ever close the gap without spending big money.

Every manager is guilty of being a hypocrite at some point though.

I don’t think he’s throwing money around blindly. These are all players that Klopp see’s as a good fit for the football he wants to play, and I’d argue that most of his signings have been at least decent. The ones that haven’t have been small 4-5 million deals.
 
Considering he'd still have 20 yrs as a manager, going on to say he would never spend 80m was inexplainably dumb. As a visionary manager he must have predicted that this is going to be regular money in 5-7 years' time, let alone for the rest of his career. Vast majority of us knew that. Saying he 'underesimated' the inflation is quite an understatement. It's not as if we weren't experiencing inflation in football every few years before that.

Iam not having a dig here but I respect United fans who can see that Jose is not the manager to take United forward. When he first went to United I was travelling and every proper Manc lad I met called it straight away. Ive just read the post you quoted and you are after Bonucci. He's 31 ? If ever there was a potential signing to mirror Jose's ambitions and ego that's it.

If Klopp spends this money and Jose finishes above them then there's an argument that says Klopp should be sacked.
We finished a comfortable second under Jose, for this wrong man to spend less than Klopp and do that next year then serious questions need to be asked of his league form in charge of Liverpool.
Its an even playing field now, Let's see what happens and if Jose is up to the task.

A comfortable second . Most of youse werent arsed in April if it was second or fourth is that right ? Liverpool's run in the European Cup may have played a little part in that ... nah ... just an excuse that.

Anyway... feck the World Cup and seeing those pricks on telly talking about how its coming home. Middle class twats . It's time to get our gloves off !

It was comfortable, you're just giving excuses why it was.
Spurs and Liverpool all had great runs in the second half of the season, we had to beat every single side in the top 6 (in 6 weeks?) to keep that second spot. Which we did.
Our season ended after beating City days after they lost to you at Anfield. That's one extra game from when we lost to Sevilla.
CL focus isn't an excuse there, we probably would have stayed focused if we didn't have 2nd in the bag after that. That's how early second place was secured.

Yes . You are right. United had the FA Cup to focus on. I'll leave it at that and a big PS... It's only a game of footie by the way and there's a lot more important and bigger stuff out there.

At the time he said it, he meant we couldn't afford to spend 150 or 200 million on the likes of Neymar or Mbappe. Now we could afford to spend that amount on 1 player he still wont.
