Mourinho or Pogba?

If it was an either/or situation, who would you rather United keep?

He looks miserable. Clearly dying to leave.

I don’t want to turn this into a me v you thing but you are just not getting it....
It ‘does’ matter a lot how much you paid for him.. obviously !!!
No, it does not. Every player is expected to produce and play to their potential regardless of what was paid in transfer fees for them. By your logic we should have no expectations from Sanchez?

Man Utd or any other team cannot make multiple 100m purchases, no one can... so when they invest that sort of money they expect a top dollar return to be successful..... and it’s quite clear Pogba is not doing it on the pitch as consistent as he should. He is also becoming negative off the pitch also, which is a recipe for disaster.
What is this? He is surely earning top dollar for the club through the merchandising circus. Assuming you're referring to his output on the pitch, I agree he has been hit and miss.

Now if utd, WHO ARE arguably the biggest club in the world were performing to the level of real and Barca then ‘they would’ attract the very best in the game, because they can compete with anyone when it come to revenue but the very best are also attracted to champ league, super cup finals etc... the wage packet comes automatically with the very best. But like you say “the current state” well that current state is simply because your so called star player, the clubs biggest investment just isn’t trying.
No English club can attract the very top players in the game if they are also wanted by either of the 2 Spanish clubs.

And that last bit is just plain wrong. It is seriously unprofessional behavior and if that is the case with any player, they would be publicly hung by the manager and never play a game for them again. There's is a big difference between under-performing and not trying. The latter is a serious offence.

If utd want to challenge to be the best they cannot carry player attitudes and inconsistency like what Pogba displays.

If the likes of ince, Neville and scholes are saying he’s not doing it then he’s not doing it.
I’ll repeat, utd will be better off selling him and reinvesting the money in someone else.
Messi, Ronaldo etc don’t need the manager to tell them how to perform on the pitch, they just get out there and perform. Utds so called superstar doesn’t !!!! Fact..
It's not that simple even if United get around 100m for him. All signs told us we couldn't sign anybody this summer despite looking to spend. Out of curiosity, how would you propose replacing Pogba?

Neither. Pogba's problem isn't him, it is his agent. Every 3 years they will come back with wage increase or flirting to another club. He will be exactly like CR but without the deliverable of CR. Mourinho always moan about his problem which you can never satisfy, which is part of the reason of his 3 years itch. No-one is bigger than the Club.

Well put indeed. This circus will continue until one or both of them go.
One thing is for sure is that does United no favours while this rubbish lingers on. Players holding the club to ransom has become a feature of the modern game, sadly. The first was Rooney, however he always delivered on the pitch though.

As for JM, he appears on the face face of it to be undergoing his predictable three year itch.

I'd say to both of them, "there's the door, you're not bigger than the club."

I wonder how this poll would pan out right now?
Fed up with the Pogba circus, comments and lack of effort.
A captain is supposed to be the heartbeat of the team, but this one is flatlining.
More trouble than he’s worth.

Neither. You can't build a team without strong leadership to put these personalities in order. Mourinho lacks man-management and Pogba is a loose cannon. United need an army guy, not clowns.

Wish I could change my vote to Mourinho. Or neither they are both cnuts

I'd have no problem seeing them both feck off.

Mourinho is teetering on the edge and won’t last much longer

Pogba is a snake , who doesn’t give a damn about the club or the fans all he cares about is money same with Sanchez both mercenaries

How Pogba can sit back and let his scum bag agent slag off Scholes is a disgrace .He should remember where he came from and what an inspiration Scholes was .Pogba and Sanchez are more interested in being celebrities , neither of them fit to clean the boots of Scholesy

Lol

Scholes is the one attacking Pogba on tv.
Pogba was busy winning the World Cup I’d imagine his inspirations might be even better than scholesy

Mourinho & his agent both have contempt for scholes and probably these class of 92 guys who have a different agenda

Sanchez is hardly a flash Harry player on or off the pitch either btw

Everything scholes and Jose have said about pogba is correct.

He hasn't been anywhere near the required standard since he joined. Has all the talent and skill in the world but he can't seem to put it together consistently.

Can't get my head around why he's given such a bye ball half the time by the fans especially when it comes to midfield most of us have been raised on Robson, Keane, scholes etc

Mourinho was sacked at chelsea for losing the dressing room and having bust ups with the big names, maybe Pogcamp is doing the same.

Scholes was on TV as a pundit and as part of their job (the main part) is to give their opinion on players/teams/managers/football. I highly doubt it was a personal attack.

Even though I'm pissed off at him and his agent, I would still say Pogba for simple reason that we paid £89M for the bastard. I'd want to get the maximum for him once we bin him off (which I would do if he won't sack his cnut of an agent). Therefore, let Jose go, and get someone else in and let's have him performing well. We don't want his stock to fall so low that we end up making a loss or a huge one, depending on what happens.

Unfortunately, emotions have to be put aside right now. However, the moment someone offered the right kind of money, let him go with Raiola and they can continue their antics elsewhere.

Both him and Jose are poison.

I was probably leaning this way anyway but unless Pogba addresses Raiola's antics its Pogbye for me.

Pogba will stay and Jose will go. The club needs good players and no matter what you say Pogba is a good player. He may have been poor at Brighton but the whole team were. Pogba isn't making the whole team poor. Jose is!

Lee Sharpe was on talksport saying he had heard a whisper from the dressing room that Jose's team talks before the match have got really bad. Apparently he doesn't give clear tactical instruction but concentrates on motivation so the players do not know what to do when they get on the pitch. Strangely enough I saw one of Jose's team talks on Chelsea TV (sorry guys) and he was very focused on telling the players that they cannot lose the match. Of course this was just one part of just one team talk but it seemed to me that Chelsea's players in his last season didn't really have a game plan and towards the end of his time they just tried to defend without creating much up front. The players were confused.

At Chelsea the board stuck with Jose for too long and they lost CL the following season. They sacked him just before Xmas when the writing had been on the wall since the beginning of the season. The bad results just kept coming. 9 losses in their first 16 games and one point off relegation. Utd are nowhere near this at the moment but if two or three losses happen in the next month they should get rid. Chelsea's board knew CL was gone but still backed Jose ahead of the players. Only when relegation became a possibility did they eventually sack him. How the Utd board view such issues is a mystery to me but they are business people and another spell out of the CL will hurt the club.

I'm not saying he's going now but in Jose's world anything could happen.

It's a easy decision for me Mourinho everyday of the week and not because I love Jose but more the fact that I think Pogba is a disgrace he has wormed his way out of out club once before and he wants out again. I've zero time for players like him it might be a harder decision if he actually ever turned up on the pitch but he's been shocking since he joined. Sell him to Barca

I'd never back some diva and his agent over any manager.

If this child acts like this with Mourinho then he'll do the same with anyone else.

It's Pogbye for me unless he condemns the behaviour of his shit bag agent puts his head down and becomes a leader.

I never ever thought I'd say this. After some reflection, I think Pogba has to go. And he can take his disgraceful agent with him.

Mourinho is not out of the woods though. The players appear rudderless and leaderless on the pitch. Against the Seagulls United players looked like strangers, in every department.

In the recent circus at United, there have been various actors, and all have played their part. JM's chief, principal job, (as he himself said) is Head Coach. Well it's about time he did some coaching then because the team is starting to look very easy to beat.

He’s had an agenda against Pogba and mourinho for a long time

Might be connected to the fact that he’d prefer one of his mates In charge

Might not
But he moans too much and I don’t mind when players or managers give it back

Agents are different but it’s his job to defend his client too

I don’t think you’ll find many people who doesn’t think Raiola has a right to defend his player.

However I do think it’s arguable that him wading in and insulting a United legend is ill advised and misjudged. In what world does him attacking Scholes (regardless of what Scholes as a pundit said about pogba) help his situation at the minute ?

Unless pogba has told his agent he wants to move and to make the noise. If thats the case, this suits his agenda well, but it makes the player look difficult and diva-ish and is a dangerous tactic

I can believe what Lee Sharpe heard. It shows on the pitch to be honest.

Also in respect of him telling the Chelsea players not to lose, that's his lack of confidence coming through. Unfortunately, that's also reflected in the way we play as well - with so much fear. Nobody wanting to lose the ball, but they do it anyway:rolleyes:

I wonder why the players don't say to him that they need more help from him? What have they got to lose? Times like this, I wish we had a real captain.

Pogba has proved at Juve and France that he can be world class. Mourinho proved that he was a top manager, but after the last years at Madrid, Chelsea and United that is very much in doubt.

Mou has not been able to change or adapt and while he may win titles again he will do it in his own defensive counter-attacking style, do we really want that for United? clearly I want us to win but I also want to enjoy watching my team again and Pogba is way more likely to return joy to the team than Mourinho.

Because Pogba still has the potential and ingredients to be a success here, and with each game it becomes more and more obvious that Jose doesn't. He's taken us as far as he's going to.

I’m not saying your wrong or even disagreeing... genuinely interested in why you think that...

I’m not so interested in keeping Pogba as you are, I think as soon as Barca or Real call he’ll angle for a move. (Like he’s potentially doing now) he’s proved he is willing to leave once, I’m certain it won’t be harder to leave a second time...

Honestly I’m not sure who I would prefer to stay though... the football is tumescent at the minute.

And your comfortable having a player who doesn’t mind undermining the manager? The club should never succumb to the players whims and fancies.Where the hell was Pogba on Sunday?I”m sure that Mourinho told him to play like that against Brighton...

Football is a team game do you really think that being in a World Cup winning team makes him anywhere near the player that Scholes was ? Who would you have in our midfield Scholes at his peak or Pogba ?

I know Mourinho has had issues with Scholes as well, but what you call Scholes attacking him is nonsense he is simply telling it as it is and most of the time it is exactly what the fans are also saying.
Pogba thinks he is bigger than the club , the class of 92 were never that far up there own backsides, I thank god Fergie isn’t managing anymore he would absolutely hate managing the likes of Pogba who thinks he is more important the team .
“Sanchez is hardly flash harry “ no of course he isn’t ! tweeting images of him modelling his new “ fashion “ range the morning after a horrendous defeat for his club ( the one that pays him half a million a year ) is absolutely fine !

I’ll hold steady on my view of keeping Pogba over Mourinho. Pogba is on the way up, Mourinho on the way down.

Pogba. Easy choice really. Mourinho is not a manager who stays long-term. He falls out with everyone eventually.

Jose over Pogba in this case. Sell Pogba and this team will play as a team. No matter who comes in Pogba will create trouble. He had problems with Dechaumps too. Yes I know a lot players had trouble with him but Pogba had problems with SAF, His manager at France and now Jose.
