As more people come forward and offer information either in public court like Michael Cohen or privately to prosecutors in return to deals constituting lighter sentencing or immunity from prosecution, Trump's options insofar as choosing to shut everything down is surely limited. I think that's why he lashed out at Sessions this week, not because he has any expectation of replacing him and getting someone who'll set up but more out of frustration that he didn't do that much sooner and in recognition that it's realistically now too late.
This guy is Chief Financial Officer of Trump Organization. It's a huge scalp, it's the guy at the very, very top. He is going to know about every dollar of its spending. It's very bad news for Trump, final nail imo.

Well, I get the reasoning. Trump is so obviously appalling, it’s easy to motivate people to work against him. Pence on the other hand is more subtle and intelligent, yet follows the exact same agenda.
