Mourinho tells Paul Pogba he'll never captain Manchester United again

If it's a briefing, i wonder who or why the club has to do this. Why not quietly take the captaincy off Pogba and give it to someone else? The manager and the players should only know, no need to announce to the entire world and fuel needless speculation.
Seems like it would've come from Pogba's end, to make him seem hard done by and lay the groundwork for his eventual departure.

This is why Pogba was a total moron for saying what he did to the press, amongst all the other bad decisions he's made in interviews etc.

Doesn't matter if he's actually been stripped of any future captaincies, doesn't matter if there actually is a rift with Mourinho or not, doesn't matter if what he said to the press was spot on.

Regardless of any of that, articles like this are always going to be the result. Pogba really needs someone taking him through the ABCs of how a professional footballer should conduct himself when interacting with the press. It's so fecking basic and he needs to wise up.
Dont you think it could be planned so he will be allowed to leave in Jan or at least end of season?

Excellent people management skills there. After throwing all the players under the bus after the Wolves game, he has decided to continue his slash and burn tactics. How is any of this helping the fans, players or Club?
He wasn't entirely wrong though. He speaks his mind and we knew that when we took him on. Some of those players really didn't grasp what a hard game it might be.

Actually fed up now of the circus we have become. Problem is, Mourinho isn't working and probably needs to go, and Pogba epitomises all the player power which is toxic to the dressing room. So it's basically impossible who to side with.

It's extremely worrying and in all honesty upsetting to see what we've become in the last 5 years. Look at us ffs?

Laughing stock right now. Be amazed to see both Jose and Pogba here by the end of January.

He'd perhaps be able to get away with it a bit more if he was a more longstanding player at the club who'd been putting in top class performances for years - Keane obviously spoke his mind a lot and until he took it too far that was, to an extent, accepted, even if he wasn't allowed to overstep the mark. Pogba's only been here a couple of years and hasn't done enough to earn any sort of exceptional status that separates him from the rest of the squad, re what's expected of him professionally.

Use this to get rid of Mourinho and being in a proper manager who can actually coach players and be positive rather than acting like a turd 24/7, new manager can then decide if he needs to shift pogba on or not.

200m and Pogba can go wherever he wants, even to China. Feck sake i always wanted him at United which is a shame. He is a superb player, a rare breed of a unique footballer

Some are reaching points of contradicting themselves. So the manager isn't supposed to talk about players in the media, fine and alright, but at the same time defending a player throwing continuous digs at his manager in the press, to the point of stopping journos to throw these digs ? Like seriously ? If you don't like both you don't like both but don't defend one, especially if that one is coming from someone with low authority in the club as Paul.

Interesting development.

What's truly a slap in the face for the club is a player like Valencia wearing the captain's armband, when it's painfully obvious to everyone that he plays without courage and constantly looks to take the easy option.

how are Pogba comments helping in that regard?

Think they are both a problem to be fair. I am backing Jose on this, but really the club is being poisoned from within.

They can both feck off. This whole Pogba v Mourinho bollox is utterly tiresome. Neither are justifying their huge salaries / huge reputations.

Don't disagree. Both are obviously wrong, and both need to shut their fecking mouth and show their work on the fecking pitch.

However, it's ridiculous that some were criticizing one while giving excuses for the other.

I like a captain that isn't afraid to speak his mind. It's a bit rich that someone as outspoken as jose can always give it but not take it.

Agree. But I side with Mou on this one, even if it’s a battle of egos. No player should be bigger than the club. What he said post Wolves may be correct about attacking at home, but you do not bring your beef with the manager to the press.

Some poster here said that both should feck off. I couldn’t agree more. They are both toxic.

I hope the Glazers and Ed wake up to the fact that their star manager and signing have essentially derailed the season 10 games in.

I agree with this and generally players stick to this idea. But Jose doesn’t help himself as he has no problem bringing his beef with players to the press.

How do you know what the players think? Lee Dixon was speaking a number of weeks ago about Mourihno's constant negativity pre-season. He said that players would be affected by this, and could have a negative impact. It is one thing to speak your mind - Fergie did it often enough - and another to consistently undermine your players for your own selfish reasons. I personally am feed up of it.

Even if you don't like Mourinho the club has to have standards in place that cannot be broken regardless of who is the manager. Pogba can't be undermining him at every corner, total unacceptable.

If I got up tomorrow to find out that both of them were gone it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Pogba is a wonderful talent but a constant distraction with the club in this transitional period and Raiola in the background.
