I think we have no choice but to approach other managers under contract. I'm not sold on Zidane. Did not particularly like his football at Madrid. I think it's vital we go for a progressive coach with an aggressive attacking philosophy. Our options are limited.

Rafa at this point.

I've actually no idea to be honest.

I'll do it for a few weeks fs.

I'll ask the boss if I can take the time off.

Someone who is good at coaching and improving what he has. We need cohesion more than anything.

Anyone but Mourinho. I'm pretty convinced that we'd see an upturn in results and mood at the club just with sacking Mourinho, regardless of who comes in. Use an interim manager until we get someone who will play attacking football and bring the right mentality back to the club.
It is FAR more important to not have Mourinho at this moment in time though. Keeping him is killing us.

Wenger is free, reading the caf lately, people only care about football. So he makes sense.

Said it in another thread:

Not really interested in a big name replacement. If Carrick wants it, I would give to him and reassess at the end of season.

Needs to be someone that the players will gets on with and respect. And presumably his style of play will be similar to how he played the game.

Zidane’s Real largely played shit-on-a-stick football which relied on a moment of magnificence from one of their talismen. They did not pulverise their opponents with mesmerising football at all. I would have huge reservations about giving him the reigns here. On a man-management and motivation scale, Zidane, by all accounts, is very good. We need more than that, however. Hence why I agree that we approach a manager already under contract who favours a progressive style of football. Our last three managers have all been defensively-orientated, first and foremost. I think all the fans would rather we try the other approach now and take the chips however they may fall. At least we’d have fun watching United again.

Tuchel, Jardim, Wenger, Pochettino (at times), Löw, Martinez, hell, even Bielsa... would all improve us offensively and produce football to get us off our seats again.

Klopp took over Liverpool from Rodgers on the 8th of October - point being, you can make long-term, sensible managerial changes mid/early season.

Bring in Zidane, and do it now.

Then in Summer remove Woodward from his current status - the man is embarrassing and has presided over the entire 'fail years'.

I know. I was serious. He would improve our movement at the very least.

He'll have a better squad than he had the last 5 years. I'm sure he can improve us in attacking and movement, possession with purpose, I think he won't have issues with defence if we buy top defenders in the winter window transfer.

It'll be Zidane.

And I expect him to massively fail too tbh.

The moment we stop panic appointing the best name out of contract available and hire someone that's chosen on basis is when we'll get our appointment right.

People have to realise the the board won't pay that sack-clause for JM at this moment.

Yeah i think Zidane would be a short-term appointment until we get our shit together and work out what sort of manager we actually want.

Wenger in. We dont have the players to win anything significant but we would play some nice stuff.

Sack Mourinho, get in a DOF and take some time to think and appoint the right manager. Mourinho is finished (although I expect him to still be here even in the new year), there is no quick fix here and a new approach is needed.

I feel the same way. Really think we should have some patience and pick the right man who fits what we actually want to do as a club (if Woodward even knows).

Conte
Zidane
Jardim

Others I probably forgotten. Not really limited. You got a triple champions league winner. Conte who did a impressive job at Juve and his first season at Chelsea was brilliant.

Whilst I agree Jose is on borrowed time, I think it would be dangerous to sack him now after the players pretty much downed tools. We could end up in a Chelsea situation where all the players and agents have the power.

I don't think the club would sack him until the top four is mathematically out of reach, the glazers have got to save that compensation cash.

Anyway, in answer to our options I would honestly cleanse our pallet of galactico managers and get back to our roots. Zidane worked at real, pep at barca, why couldn't carrick get the rest of the season with McKenna assisting him.

But first this god awful marketing united needs to gtfo of our club. It's led to megastar mega bucks signings and a board of directors who care more about how many Facebook followers we have than the turf on our pitch

We don’t have time for patience during the middle of the season.

Liverpool turfed out Brenton and got Klopp in straight away. If you know who is the best man then get them in.
