Brexit is primarily an English obsession and mainly those from the West Midlands(where I live). They love there Brexit around here. Allardyce being from Dudley prime Brexit country is the obvious choice.

After all dem Romanians are everywhere now. You only have to go down the A&E and the waiting cue is 8 hours. I only went in because our Bradon grazed his knee and needed a plaster but I 'ad to wait 8 hours because of dem Romanians.

The issue being they'd need to have a deal that the EU accept, which they certainly don't with Chequers.
This government is that incompetent that they'd probably do a ref with the options being 'Chequers or No deal'
Then Chequers wins..

Not even a farfetched scenario anymore..

They're not the only ones mind...
In the case of Germany it's more complicated as they have the highest GDP in Europe by far and due to the sensitivity of a Germany building up its forces. To say they've been freeloading is misleading.

They're not the only ones but they're a very powerful economy and supposed to be a leading nation, the defacto leaders of the European Union.

All countries agree to spend a 2% of GDP, so their overall GDP doesn't matter.

Not strictly true, the 2% is just a guideline, whether a country commits to it is up to them, there is no requirement.

Barclay, who is not exactly one of better known members of the government, is a former Barclays Bank director who was elected MP for North East Cambridgeshire in 2010. He voted leave.

I think you're mistaking US Military with NATO. NATOs only offensive operations have been in Bosnia and Kosovo. All of their other missions have been for peacekeeping and defence.

Not sure why people thought I was trying to change peoples minds. Their minds are made up and they have dug their heels in and would vote the same again given the chance which numerous people have stated on here. I am not interested in changing their minds because it would be a wasted effort given that despite all the "revelations" which were obvious to everyone and anything, aside from boulders perhaps, that the so-called benefits of leaving were complete guesswork at best and utter lies for the rest.

It is also amusing that also saying that people will ignore what I said and talk about how this won't change their minds. If people can't pay attention to simple things like this then what hope is there!!

The more I see of Theresa May the more I wonder how she got there. She obviously wouldn't have been voted in as she's about as confident and convincing as a goldfish, but she must've worked her way up to near that point somehow. I thought a huge part of being a politician was about debating and public speaking. She's awful at it, even without an audience in person. I wouldn't trust her to run me a bath, nevermind run the country.

We need someone to start a poll thread about what they think is the most likely outcome.
Mays clusterfeck deal, a revised deal, no deal, no brexit. I would do it but I don't know how to do polls.

Fair enough. No one is really trying to change peoples minds here are we? Its shouting into the void. It would be wasted time. There are plenty of people out there though who would and probably have changed their minds based on how things have gone since the ref. Pointing and calling them idiots helps no one. Some will be idiots naturally, who just want to win, no matter the cost, but some have believed the lies and its those who remainers should be targeting.

As home secretary she promised to reduce immigration. Failed.
As PM she promised all the good stuff we brexiters voted for. Failed.

Even now she's saying she's delivering on brexit :lol:

I've been very critical of her in the past but I've found new respect for her over the past couple of days. I honestly thought her red lines were incompatible with any deal with the EU so credit to her for finding one that she is willing to defend. Despite the rather sad picture she tends to make she does have some staying power, there might be more substance behind her than transpires through the telly (I thought she'd be gone within a week after the election tbh, proved me wrong).

But then again I am on the remain side of things and I don't believe that remaining itself is a viable option anymore so this is the closest it's going to get. I find myself in the strange position of being on her side for once.

I feel the same way - to be fair to her she is obviously incredibly resilient and you have to give her credit for fighting her corner despite pretty much everybody being ready to stab her in the back.
 
It's like giving Fellaini credit for playing out of his skin; he has to, because the overall talent is absent.
