Yeah - can't speak for anyone else, but Avram Grant buying United would be the last straw for me.
You’ve got me wrong, I worded it badly.
I don’t condone the killing of innocents obviously. No one does, unless they are messed up in the head.
I just mean that, these evil regimes will always be dodgy with and without their playthings (like a football club.)
I want new owners but not ones that are known for torture or murder. Saying this, I know nothing about the Saudi’s we are linked with. Are they actually evil or are people generalising these kind of wealthy people?
That might bring the "Mourinho out!" lobby on side I guess...Yeah - can't speak for anyone else, but Avram Grant buying United would be the last straw for me.
This is a regime that Manchester United are effectively supporting through their strategic partnership.Nope, the Saudi royal family are close to being as bad as you can get in the world today. Google Jamal Khashoggi, for the most recent example.
Cheers. That's a good point. Welcome to the forum you fecking bitter.![]()

I wonder what all those Manchester Utd fans who have complained about one of Manchester City's owners being linked to the U.A.E think about this?

Yes you can, you can at least protest, and you can always leave the country if you feel it is not working, if you feel you are paying criminals of a government and move elsewhere, specially for Americans and British who have very nice alternatives in English speaking peaceful countries like Canada and New zealand and even Australia to move to.Oh i didn't know you could phone up the Government and say i don't agree with your foreign policy so i'm not paying my taxes anymore. Good to know.

My point is, you wont leave your home country because you love it, even though you hate the government and pay taxes to it. Why shouldn't the same analogy apply on a fecking football club, you continue love your club and support it even if the owners are shit ???
I'm a new member.
I believe that with one of Uniteds owners numerous visits and Mr. Arnold now also being pictured in SA, that a buyout is imminent.
All this tosh about being at a convention doesn't wash for me.
Jose will have told Woodward that he worked a miracle getting this squad to a runner -up position last season, and to be fair, he did.
He will also have informed, I'm sure, of the massive money that would be needed to compete, say 6 new players @£50-60m plus wages.
Giving Jose a new contract to tie him in, then denying him any money to spend didn't look right.
However, if a takeover from a Super Rich family was in the offing, surely the Glazers would be thinking, 'let's not spend, let them do it, after the deal'.
They would then take a bigger dividend and the books look great, increasing the value of the company.
I could be wrong but if I am, top 4 is a big ask for this squad, and make no bones, Jose will have told Woodward this too
Interesting.
I like the way you are thinking.
I’m exactly the same mate. Anything for change maybe. Maybe thinking more funds for transfers? Why do I secretly want this, even though I know its not particularly a good sign
Seems trying to get rich fecks on board isn't my strong suit. This tweet got no traction whatsoever.
Makes total sense, they'll probably make £3.5b profit, the Chancers didn't spend much of their own money to buy the club... But years later they'll have made obscene amounts. Folk should have fallen out of love with the game back then...Fergie kept me sane to be fair...sadly he moved on and we are not the same club anymore. We could spend triple City amounts via the Saudis and play great football but it won't bring back the feeling I had for the game. A potential Saudi take over won't change how many feel - that ship sailed ages ago.
Jesus. How many fecking times is someone going to trot out this shite again? Try reading the thread, where countless people have explained the difference between being owned by nationals of a given country and the de-facto rulers of a country. If we wanna talk about ethics and morals, ie values beyond football as a game, then i'm afraid its kinda hypocritical given USA is the biggest ally of S.A. Football isnt the simple game like it previously was. It grew into a comercial jugglenaut with worldwide appeal due to our successes and along came the political elements. This is modern football. Accept or go support a smaller club. I want our club to continue winning so i can enjoy our games. I can't be bothered whether the owners are Arab, Jews, Americans or Asians so long there are long term stability and the club keeps most of its original fabric.
I will take being rebranded to Al Trafford home of Manchester el-United if it knocks City off their fricking perch!!!
Would it bother all of us on a moral level, big fecking yes.
Are we gradually losing the old and romantic ManUnited, yes.
If some guy with a shitload of cash doesn't come in, are we losing it for good, yes.
If this is what is needed for us to compete with Barca, Madrid, City, Psg, Juve, well hell yes, bring the guys in.
I think there are still people that think this club is still a Busby-Fergie romantic cult. Stop living in the fecking past, we are not in the 60's or 90's anymore. You like that ideea because you grew up with it, that is the sole reason.
Do you want your kids to grow up with an 8th placed Man United waiting for the next Ferguson to appear? Get some sense.
All of you are dreaming of signing class players and stuff like that. Without a huge influx of money we ain't buying shi7 on a stick.

As a life long fan it's not just about winning trophies, it's the feeling you get when your players are passionate for the jersey. When your chips are down and you can feel our players fighting to get that last minute goal that's what UTD is about and that what my kids want to see and hopefully there kids.Would it bother all of us on a moral level, big fecking yes.

You can be sure said posters are also callous a-holes in their work life too.I mean, this is just stupid. What you're saying is that it's more important for your kids to grow up with United in 1st than it is to be a decent person and not want to be associated with murderers and evil people. I don't know about you but I'm not 18 anymore, football isn't the most important thing in my life.
We spent the best part of 25 years in the absolute pits, with a car crash of a club, being totally mis-managed and buying players who weren't up to the job. And there across the road and next door and everywhere, were you lot, winning all before and behind you. To be in the same division as you was a result, although we knew deep down, you were the richest club, you bought the best players, you achieved great success this way, Why was everyone else even playing?
Anyway, I went to bed one night and I awoke the next morning to the news that we were now the richest club in the world and had just signed Robinho!
You know the rest, but believe me, when you're watching the likes of Silva or De Bruyne playing for your team, you won't give a flying.... who owns the club.
None of these modern owners are in it because they like football. They're only there for the money, ours included!

I never mentioned A Saudi takeover, but if a Billionaire from China or Japan came in with a bid, would you be happy.
Yeah. That guy isn't going to drop a quarter of his entire worth buying the club plus another billion on transfers just out of the goodness of his heart. No private businessman wouldI'd suggest actual self made businessmen aren't the best target for a football club takeover anymore. You need inherited wealth with no clue of the value of money.
You can be sure said posters are also callous a-holes in their work life too.
For me it's really very simple. If we get bought by the Saudi royal family and basically become the equivalent for Saudi Arabia's regime that City is for the UAE or PSG is for Qatar, I will no longer remain a fan of the club.
Anyone who does by the way and has ever criticized City for their "blood oil money" is a massive hypocrite.
Again, if the Saudi royal family buys the team I'm done with the club.

Genuine question, not trying to be confrontational, but is there anyone, either individual, corporation, company or sovereign state, that people would feel comfortable with ( ethically or otherwise ) taking over our club? This prick is way to busy buying up land with salmon rivers and polluting groundwater to run a crumbling dynasty.
