Get Rashford or Lingaard off and put on Sanchez. I would take off Rashford and Ligaard and put Mata and Sanchez. Take Matic off and put on Pogba.

It really does make you wonder what we're trying to do when someone like Fred comes in and is much better on the ball than everyone bar Pogba. What the feck is going on?

We must be so easy to play against, especially at OT. Young Boys don’t have to burst a gut to defend as nothing in the final 3rd from us

Paolo Smalldini our best player so far.

Lingard and Rashford were anonymous for the first 25 minutes. Rashford has got into it now, but Lingard is no where. Very odd. All the best play coming down the left, which is no surprise with the busted flush at right back.

Mourinho said we should play like a cup final and we sure are playing like Mourinho wanting a clean sheet first and foremost with a goal at the other end to do the job. I’m quite happy to grind out 1-0 wins for a while.

Can someone wake me up when the following is complete at the club?

    • Mourinho gone
    • Smalling, Jones, Fellaini, Young, Valencia, Darmian, Lukaku, Matic, Pogba, Rojo, Bailly all sold
    • Glazers gone
    • Better standard of football played
    • Everyone at the club UNITED
    • Less media friendly interviews
    • A buzz prior to every match
    • Red shirt, white shorts, black socks, white in Europe
This coma will be a long time so farewell for now

Fred looks handy, no one else looks up to much.

We need to buy a new striker.

These games used to be fun to watch because SAF would play a midfield of Gibson and Fabio with no fecks given and still win 4-0. Now it's just sad.

For all Jose's faults, half of our squad doesn't even deserve to be in the reserves team. Rashford is a brilliant example. He is a great athlete but I am not sure about his football abilities. Brainless, wasteful.

I really don't understand the point of starting 3 quick forwards that thrive on through balls, then starting 2 immovable lumps behind them that can't pass the ball…

    Just Jose logic.

We dominated this lot away with Pogba in the lineup and orchestrating the attack, what the hell was the logic behind benching today??

Can't think of anything besides sabotage

Just checked the score as out christmas shopping. fecking joke.

    Why is Mourinho still here?

The 'everything is fine' meme applies heavily when it comes to our board.

    Anything else?

Sanchez is out of squad. Why? I don't know. He does not offer what those two offering. :wenger:

Anyone who dares stand by Matic, really should go home. His backwards passing, his slowness in that key midfield area is a key reason for the complete lethargy in our play. I mean he is the engine room and he is barely out of first gear.

At his best he’s brilliant, he’s just a young player who lacks consistency. He recently showed some by scoring 5 games in a row and was rightly given plaudits for it. At his best, he’s a great player.
Unfortunately he is piss in the other 35 games he plays. Talented for sure but I doubt he will be here for long.

Do our players even train together? Final third cohesion has been abysmal.
I think they do, but just run and have fun and laugh there. I have the feeling we do no attacking drills in our trainings.

Lukaku would not be in the position to waste anything in the first place. We should definitely stick with this but bring Sanchez for Lingard

Exactly. Rashford movement is brilliant and he is doing everything right except the last move. It will come with experience and also we look so much better with him leading the line.

Someone else said that if you give City those chances, it’s 5-0 at half time. I agree, we’re so lacking in quality in the last third.

That's why I cannot put all the fault on Mourinho. He has his obvious faults, but the obvious gap in quality is shared with the board/Woodward and Jose.

Rashford has to take his chances and those are chances that good CFs make. Right now, Rashford isn't a good CF. He has good qualities and has done some good play throughout the first half, but his main objective is to score.

Unfortunately he is piss in the other 35 games he plays. Talented for sure but I doubt he will be here for long.
Once every 35 games? Nah, he’s shown far more than that

The frustrating element of that entire first half isn't that it is uncharacteristic of us this season, or that X player is playing poorly today. The truly frustrating truth behind many individual mistakes is that they are atypical ones which can be found time and time again in almost every game. Whether Rashford, Lingard or Valencia play poorly, ok, or very well, these mistakes still occur, even if they are obscured by moments of good performance.

Decision-making mistakes are the hardest to rectify because form isn't a guarantee of eradicating them, although, poor form exacerbates them all the more so.

Get Rashford or Lingaard off and put on Sanchez. I would take off Rashford and Ligaard and put Mata and Sanchez. Take Matic off and put on Pogba.

Rashford was our liveliest player in that first half and the most likely to make something happen, it's just his decision-making that is letting him down. He could really us a goal.

However, Lingard looks a country mile off the pace of the game.

Incredibly frustrating half by Rashford. Did all the hard bits amazingly well and continuously fecked up the very last step. I hope he keeps at it and the reward will eventually come.
