Would be a miracle to finish top four: Mourinho

Jose is in sabotage mode. Instead of doing his job, he is adding fuel to the toxic fire that he lit up to burn each and every bridge down to leave before Xmas and get his dozen million quid. Let us see how Woody reacts.

Woody?
He'll just be pictured looking glum at every game for the next 1/2/3/4 etc months

He's achieved his goal already. He's managed to make everyone think we are so poor that he can't do any better.

We might not have the squad of some of the best teams but the sum of our players should really have us playing a lot better than we currently are.

I actually hate him. Wasted hundreds of millions, caused so much negativity, moaned and blamed everyone bar himself and is now actively on a mission to deepen the rot as soon as possible to get his compensation. Shite of a manager and a cnut of a person.

If we had football people in charge at the club, he surely would be dismissed by now! His negativity, his constant belittling the club & his narcissistic comments, its just enough. One part of me hopes his recent increasingly erratic behaviour is because he already knows he's a dead man walking.

Keep him until May or even March and we'll be in a relegation scrap!

Just deflecting away from his inability. Has to be sacked now.

It really is time to get a new manager in and start rebuilding. Even if it’s just someone to come in and salvage something from the season, there’s still the FA Cup to win (and the CL of course! :p).

We’re massively underperforming with the squad we have. New manager, new ideas, sweep away this toxic negativity and hopefully start playing with some intensity, passion and entertainment again. Even just a little would be welcome at this stage!

I'm only realizing how daft that interview is, he isn't deflecting but he is basically admitting that he has miserably failed. 30 months, 400m and he managed the team to square one.

The thing is - and I want him to go...

But why should he walk? He was given a fecking contract extension last season and then mugged off in the Summer window.

Why shouldn't he wait for Woodward to give him the pay-off his contract guarantees him?

And please guys, don't respond with, "the decent thing to do..." etc, he's a professional, he's brought us multiple trophies, he's given the Glazers / Woodward CL footy every season he's been here, and he's been given a contract, and then not been backed 4 months later...

Again, I want him out, but he has every right to take what Woodward promised him.

Two trophies (1 EL, 1 Carabao Cup) is hardly a massive haul.

There's no one available though.

Woody is probably thinking, there is much of a muchness between sacking him now and sacking him when out of top 4 by way of silverware. However in monetary terms there may be a lot to be saved if he draws the axe when top 4 is out of reach.

He will be assessed at the end of the season. And as it stands the board will let him go.

I'm sure I remember ex-Mourinho players saying that the man we saw in the media was completely different to the man on the training pitch and around the club which is why his players developed such a good relationship with him and showed it with their performances on the pitch, I wonder if that's changed and he's like this all the time now and that's why his players seemingly turn on him or at least are unwilling to commit to him and his tactics the way his previous teams did. It can't be a fun place to be right now with everyone wondering when/if the axe is going to fall, all these negative stories and sound bites every few days is like salt in the wound.

We should have hired Sparky at half time and left Jose in a rubber dinghy, telling him to row back from Southampton to the Lowry Hotel.

As he has won all those titles single-handed he would find that a doddle I'm sure!

Yes there are - and besides, you make people available, by making them offers and buying out contracts.

Mourinho was given a fecking contract extension last season, that's not his, or our (as fans) problem, it's the idiots who did it - and now they must pay whatever it costs to sack him, and then make a decent appointment.

And if they can't do that, then they also need to leave their current positions, with immediate effect.

Not Woodward!

Moyes : outgoing contract
LvG: outgoing contract
Mourinho: free agent

There are 2 scenarios that I think might be occuring:

1) we have a top 4 clause which would eliminate/reduce a payoff should we fail to reach top 4. Woody has no incentive to fire him before that. Mourinho knows he can get a payoff if he is sacked without fulfilling the clause... thus self-destruction occurs.

2) we are trying to sort out DDG's contract before firing a Mendes client.

if he really said this give the reins to Carrick and stick him helping out with young players

his negativity sinks to new depths each week

would be poetic after the disrespectful way to dumped Schweinsteiger

let him rot out of the spotlight

He's running through every possible trick trying to get himself sacked. He's probably just as baffled as we are that he's still in a job. I mean, what more can he do?

Those quotes wont do the club nor the players any good with still half a season to play for. How is it that the team finished runner up last season but managed to drop significantly the season after with the addition of the likes of Sanchez and Fred (who honestly enough havent performed at all). If its truly the defense only how come the team finished top 4 the previous seasons? To say its a miracle to finish in the top 4 could be the definitive turning point and a wake up call to the board. Lukaku, Martial, Pogba, Rashford, there is no excuse to not finish in the top 4 at all.

10:00pm this Wednesday:

"So is anyone going to discuss Mourinho taking a shit on the centre-circle?"

Feels like a century away.

Been at the back of my mind but concluded Mendes has to be a good professional to have this kind of reputation. I can't see him letting one situation affect the other.

He knows he’s gone. Just getting his word in early before the NDA hits.

If this was his 1st season then yeah, some of this negativity would be justified.
No, it isn't. It's one thing to say that in private to Woodward. It's quite another to say it in public. He's saying he has zero confidence in his players. That he doesn't rate them. He's literally, willingly and knowingly undermining his own ability to do his own job.

We're basically in some sort of weird vacuum of shitness at the moment! The players hate Mou, Mou hates the players; Mou hates Ed, Ed probably hates Mou; Mou wants to be sacked, the players want Mou to be sacked, Ed wants Mou to be sacked... but he can't as he just gave him a new contract and will lose the Glazers money! Wow!

Bah we’re supposedly the richest club in the world, we can more than afford it.

He’s desperate to be sacked, he’d be delighted to get the boot as soon as possible. Its a huge payoff and it saves him the embarrassment of being even worse than Moyes.

This will be United’s worst ever Premier League season if he continues and he will hate having to preside over it. Unfortunately for him in Woodward and the Glazers he has the only people who might force him to do it.
