Post-match discussion

Congratulations to the team and all the fans who believed we'd be better with Jose gone.

As someone who supported Jose until the end... I have to say that you were right and I was wrong.

However, I still think it was wrong for some players not to give full effort... and I still see a lot of misplaced passes and clearances that would have punished us against a better team.

I think the main goal going forward should be to secure Martial's services... brilliant goal...

Look forward to this trend continuing... Great feeling today.

Bailly for Jones, Sanchez for Lingard and Dalit for young eventually
You think so regarding Lingard. I find him to be an exciting player, full of energy and his work rate is second to none. I think we will see a much better player than Sanchez in him under the guidance of an attack minded manager.

First game in 2 1/2 years where we were on it for both halves.

Takes Ole just one game to remind us why we love this club and its traditions.

@FrantikChicken @Red Devil Rising just confirming that Jose’s tactics are for the fullbacks to stay back and tuck in, 2 midfielders covering so that when you attack you only have 2 or 3. Also commented on his man management being rubbish about how he doesn’t really tell players what they are doing wrong or explaining why they are out and said the main reason he wanted to leave was due to Jose.

Also indicated a lot that he has been talking to people within the club that say the joy was gone and so on. I’m sure someone will post it later and I think Premier League Tonight normally ends up on YouTube.

Wow that's quite damning from Rooney. Looking forward to seeing it now

Let's face it, it's easy to be magnaminous when you are 19 points ahead and trashed us only last week!

Oh, of course. But I didn’t feel magnaminous about you just last week or the one before and probably wouldn’t either had you gotten someone like Allegri. There’s just something about that Norwegian teddy bear:lol:

It was great to see how we were first to so many balls but also followed up if we didn't get it on the first attempt. The interchanging of Martial, Rashford and Lingard was impressive and the back four pushing up the pitch was great.

Apparently these guys haven’t got the memo that the season is apparently finished. Thank feck.
We might still not make top 4, but the fight is very much on and I wouldn't be surprised if we made it. We still have to play Arsenal and Chelsea too.

Saw something similar to what happened against Fulham at home (watch the highlights). Exactly the same match. Except that the players missed easy chances against Fulham. We will have to wait for tougher opponents.

How many times under Jose did Rash and Martial start in the same game? Jose was so afraid of things that could not happen and after one goal, he becomes a tortoise.

Thinking back, Lingard and Rashford were probably the most key aspects to that attacking display. Their runs, movement and one-twos were incredible. Take them out of the side and I'm not sure we'd have scored 5.

Wasn’t it only a few weeks ago Jose said we didn’t have any terriers in midfield but today it looked like we had terriers everywhere. The 5th goal comes from some terrier like snapping.

There was a massive difference between today's performance and vs Fulham. I have no idea which game you were watching if you think this was the same game as vs Fulham, maybe you just watched the "Highlights".Of course against better teams it will be more difficult but win, lose or draw I just hope we attack the way we did today and of course improve defensive side as well.

Only caught the second half but that was enough to remind me what it is to watch football being played with soul. Long may this continue.

Position and passing map. Now imagine us having a functional right side.

This is what Manchester United and football is all about, I had almost forgotten it could be so much fun.

I see a lot of you talking about a front three of Rash, Martial and Sanchez, and allthough I’m fond of the idea of Sanchez playing this kind of football, I would absolutely hate lingard being benched.
I know many wont agree, but I really, really rate him.

Lingard is better value for money than Sanchez all day long.

I love this moment. Pressing in numbers and having 7 players on the opponent half while we're up 4-1 and with only 1 forward on the pitch.

I never thought Matic was an average player who deteriorated. We were crying out for a solid defensive midfielder for years under Fergie. When Matic arrived he was allowed a lot of freedom in defence but since mid-last season Jose had him playing as a defender/sweeper and tied to the back. He was caught up in all that Jose criticism over the quality of our centre backs. Today he was allowed to run freer and it showed how he supported and started the link up transition play with the forwards. He doesn’t need resting but being allowed to play to his strengths which he showed today.

He was excellent today.
Mind you everyone was on top of their game.
What I was encouraged by was seeing as going for the 6th goal in the dying minutes.

Those lads who traveled all that way down.
They came to see football like this.

Has anyone got some links to Ole’s post match interview and the pundits opinions on BT sport?

Can't believe I can look forward to MOTD tonight, us ripping it up and likely on first, then City and Chelsea losing to follow, feels like years since this has happened.

This is the question that I'd like answered. In fact, I'd like Jose to answer it, because I am baffled.
Arguably one of the best manager in the World, struggled. Ole (nowhere near the best manager) comes along and scores 5 goals in his first match in charge. Jose could not score 5 in 2.5 years!

I'm completely baffled.

Seems pretty obvious that Mourinho isn’t one of the best managers in the world.

Amazing football, thank God I cancelled the date I scheduled earlier thinking that Jose would be in charge.
This match was more orgasmic .

Don't wanna get carried away but we definitely winning fa cup and champions League

Loved every minute. Been wanting 5 goals in a game for a while now, it feels amazing. You couldn't have asked for a better start.

Loved this as well, but against a better opposition this could turn ugly imo.
