I believe he does. I remember reading he used to be an aspiring footballer at a young age before switching to combat sports, because he wasn’t a fan of the playacting aspect of football.

Its getting hard to argue against him getting the job, isn't it.
Cleverley, Anderson, Butt, P Neville, O'Shea, Brown, Evans and Park Ji Sung.
None of the above were in our best 11s. None of them were regular starters. If using players like them is idiotic during a season maybe SAF and the players medals might have an arguement to make.
Mata, Fred, Dalot and Pereira aren't any less capable than the players listed above. It takes a whole squad to be successful in the long run.

The board have to have their heads turned at least. If we get past PSG, continue to get results in the league and FA Cup, It would have to be an easy decision.
Not for a minute playing down Ole, but the Mickey, Carrick, McKenna mix just smacks of United men. Solid United men, all arrived from a different point and know what is required. Each with their own influence. That team is as important as the first XI on the pitch, if not more so. Looks like a proper United foursome. Nicky Butt doing a top job too.
Pep Guadiola and Ancelotti I believe, Klopp was also in his list. Moyes was 5th or 6th choice at the time.
Anyway I'm not against the idea of Ole being our perma manager but we have to appoint a DoF before that and if he has no problem working with Ole, then fecking yes.

Was going to post almost the exact same thing. Ole has done great, and his decision to get Mike back in and keep Carrick and McKenna cannot be overlooked. I've said before in this thread, that we shouldn't waste money getting anyone else.... This Management team is surely the way forward.
The stark difference for me that really rammed it all home, as if the other results and performances hadn't already, was that at 75 mins 2-1 up away to a top 6 club in a cup game, Ole brings on Rashford and Martial. Mou brings on Fellani and McTominay.

Decision to play Lingard as false 9 looks really good away from home. Having two wide forwards who can run at opponent CBs + Pogba and Lingard joining the counter quickly makes us super dangerous for any defence.
Plus, Lingard does very well to drop back and close opponent playmaker. Loving this new set up. Let’s see how they do in Feb!

It's in his book. Pep was clearly Fergie's preferable choice but he said at the time "retirement" wasn't his agenda so you can tell United and Fergie didn't really have a clear plan on this one.

Honestly, it's one or the other. Anyone who seriously thinks Eddie Howe (or any of the others really) should or could get the role is seriously deluded and should seek immediate medical attention.
(For my vote - getting rid of Ole and the all-utd backroom staff and starting from scratch a la Moyes would be madness)

My only criticism is just that 1 goal we keep conceding each match. But that’s barely anything. Loving it at the moment!
Seriously warming up to him. He has Fergie's tactical flexibility unlike other modern managers who are married to their system and never account for matchups. Ole doesnt even get enough credit for his tactical side. Those results against Spurs and arsenal were hailed as 'tactical masterclass' under the last manager. Ole's big game smash and grabs actually seem more deserved than the shite we praised Jose for in those games. There are no flukes wins here. Ole's counters are lethal by design
and Phelan.. Also an interesting mix of experience - different generations and experience. Id say Carrick's experience during the bad times must be worth gold too. He's a real professional and winner.. you can tell. Just that interview about his depression after not winning the CL says how much he burns for succes.
Just curious, but can you pinpoint the tactical nousse in those games for me? For me its very naive football (in a good way) and luck has gone our way in those two games, with megachances for the opponent. The most tactical thing I'd say was probably boksering a bit around Youngs yesterday as that was where Arsenal would probably try and start their attacks.
Arsenal were really luck during that streak and everyone said they were not playing good football,we've had luck but our play has improved significantly.
This has nothing to do with a new manager bounce, this has to do with top quality players being mismanaged by Mourinho due him throwing a strop in pre-season. Ole, Phelan, Carrick and Mckenna play to the strengths of this squad and the result is that we are back to the level we were in the 1st half of 17/18. There are some changes but this game was uncannily similar to last season's game at the emirates.

Even if our backs are against the wall, we never go long and always try to play our one touch passing game. Imagine if we could upgrade on some of the players, we would be at another level.

We weren't this good in 17/18 and tactics are different in big games. Remember terrible performances in Anfield and Stamford Bridge for example not carrying any threats. The use of the false 9 and wide forwards and players being given license to attack is down to the manager.
We don't play hoofball any more and there's emphasis on passing out from back whenever possible. Mourinho never wanted it.
