Boy, is he leaving behind a great impression. Not just in terms of results, his overall approach towards the media & public is so damn classy.
considering you're not getting Poch anyway.
All I'm seeing is fans begging for him to be given the job when we've still got three and a half months of the season left and are under absolutely no time pressures.
I think most of us in here are as well. People are talking about Pochettino as if he want's to come anyway. As it stands there's no evidence to suggest he's even interested in the position, plus, if Solskjaer carries on in this form, no manager would want to follow him anyway. He's done incredibly well so far, and I've always liked him. I'm personally just tired of seeing all the comments of how he compares to Pochettino when in fact it's very difficult to compare the two before Ole has had time to form a team. Most of Pochettinos best qualities have been his ability to develop a club mentality, develop players, patterns of play and consistently perform and adapt. If Solskjaer gets the job he could show the same qualities or he could fail and get fired. I think he's worth betting on if I was a United fan because of how much he is getting out of the group right now, and the fact that he is a club legend.
He might be, Guardiola and Zidane didn't have experience and did very well. I think he probably is the correct fit for the club right now considering you're not getting Poch anyway.
Bite
And let me guess, if he passes that the next real test will be City? The real test is Liverpool
There is a 100% chance that A) Ed will let Ole know if he's being slotted for the job way in advance of anyone else knowing about it. Either by signal from the Glazer family, or the board has simply made up their minds in the backroom. B) If Chelsea for example made Ole an offer, they would not do it before the season was over and his tenure with the club was over.
Its important to know just how important this club is to Ole. Compare it to taking your 7 year old son to the carnival to catch some rides. You stand in line to ride bumpercars together, but then you decide that you're going to let him stand there and look while you ride with another kid and have a blast. Maybe even give your kid the finger and tell him to stop crying.
That scenario, is just as likely as Ole not staying the course with his Manchester United gig.
Agree,The sooner we get confirmation of the permrnant manager the better and the same goes for Molde who we owe a debt of gratitute to.
I reckon the squad needs 3 - 5 players, with roughly the same again being sold. Without a Director Of Football, we need to crack on with a clear plan. Now we have a manager who has priced himself on the pitch and in the backroom, we are well placed to build the team around his strategy, which bar a little question mark on youth opportunities, is the United way
Get this month out of the way and announce it
Agree,
We don't need to announce it, just let Ole know he is permanent manager and start planning for next season.
There is nothing wrong to start planning in advance for next season.

That's good point,
I think Molde will happy for Ole if he become our full-time manager. and they also have that possibility in mind at beginning.
They are very supportive from beginning.
If we beat Liverpool we'd be on 54 points and City + Liverpool will be on 65. That's 11 points. We'd also be 6 points behind Spurs if they lose to Burnley, 7 if they draw and 9 if they win.If we win against Liverpool next game, we'd be 8 points clear of Liverpool and City, 4 points clear off Spurs in Ole's league over 2 months.
Give him full backing in summer, RB, CB, RW, and more CM depth, he may be challenging for titles IMO
As professional he will also understand that, this is his biggest opportunity to get good manager job,
If we don't commit why he should wait and sabotage his opportunity?

I hope we damage City and Liverpool just enough so Spurs can nick the titleif we beat Liverpool, we reduce 19 to 11 in just 2 months since Ole has taken over, remarkably. Hope our defeating them would do more damages for them in a future fixture, they got Chelsea and Spurs at home.

City and Liverpool are both clearly better teams than us. Losing to them proves nothing other than that Ole is unable to get us to catch up to the best teams in the league in just two months, without signing a single player.
Not that this will stop a massive meltdown and reappraisal of his talents as a manager if/when we lose both games.
Exactly, they'd be out of a job around Christmas and Solskjaer back in if things started going badly.Yeah that's another good point. The new manager would be judged on the idea of what Solskjaer could have done, and if the season continue like this that's not a nice situation to be in.
You'll never please some people because they don't want to be pleased. The goalpost moving is being done by lunatics mostly.This. First it was Spurs who was the litmus test, then Arsenal, then PSG, then bouncing back from defeat to beat Chelsea and now its Liverpool. Its true that during his tenure we had some fairly easy games like Fulham and Huddersfield, but beating all the big London clubs at their own ground cant be done on smiles and hugs alone
I think the whole argument is tired now and has run it's course. He'll get the job at the end of the season regardless of what happens between now and then.
I just hope people stop with the bickering at that point because it's exhausting.
Lovely. Cheers for that. What a load of shite. Poch started coaching in 2009 while Ole started with United reserves in 2008. Where do you think Ole has been all this time, Madrid?
Ole won a trophy at every side he managed except Cardiff, Poch has never won a trophy in his life.
11 years experience including Manchester United reserves (3 years)
‘Not at this level’ - this makes me laugh. As if Solskjaer has been managing pub teams for the last 10 years.
Pretty sure he has also managed more games in European competition than other managers being linked to the job.
It’s a weak argument that people who have no knowledge outside of the PL through up. Baffling.
Well, there’s our reserves, relegation fodder Cardiff and Molde in the World renowned Norwegian League.
So no, not pub leagues, but he’s not done anything anywhere near United’s level.
