Premier League Gameweek 29

What kind of tactics is this from Everton, every single time they win the ball its instant punt forward with no aim!?

I think Liverpool and Klopp have a mental block at Old Trafford which meant even though they should have gone for it last week they were actually conent to just take a point.

I don't think they'll show as much respect for Everton here and they'll not settle for a 0-0.

Nice touch by the toddler.

Yeah was wrong example, I meant more as a club in their standing in things. City posted a few top 10 finishes in that era and as bad as Everton have been they could still finish top 10, are 10th despite being awful for months.

Not sure what they can do as they have spent 100s of millions and signed some decent players on paper. Guess it just shows how strong the top 6 have become as a unit, United taking half a season off and still looking secure for top 4, Arsenal losing a manager of 20 years and not dropping to 7th as United did under Moyes.

Tough for anyone to break that unless they have Leicester style season or a top club totally bombs like Chelsea in 15/16.

Their investment has been terrible. They should be pretty secure in 7th given the money they've spent and the squad they have to build on.

This doesn't hold a candle to some of the previous Everton sides of the past 10 years. They've dropped off immensely. I get that it's incredibly tough in an inflated market to find value but they've just thrown money at things without any semblance of a plan. Last year it was a glut of number 10's, this year a glut of wingers...They've taken chances on players for sums that should be bringing in sure quality.

Such a simplistic game by Everton, always trying to insist sending the ball on one side, thinking Walcott can take it when he's being perfectly managed by Liverpool defense. They need to create a movement somewhere to contain Liverpool defense and then hit.

Yeah their transfer activity was awful in 17/18, no proper striker signed and they just ended up playing Rooney up there who was generally past it after Sandro Ramirez flopped.

I do think it's been a bit better this year, Digne hasn't done badly at LB, Gomes was getting praised in his early games although seems he's reverted to type and Richarlison had his usual good form up to xmas.

Whoever they sign they have poor mentality as a club. Their record not just against Liverpool but Man. United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs in last 5 seasons must be horrendous and these are teams they obviously want to finish above with what they spend.

Richarlison should come on for Bernard.

Well they’ve not made a substitution have they...
They have not, but your quote of Gary was that "they won't wait to make a substitution" but I get it now, you're saying they did wait so far... sorry, my bad.

Even when Liverpool gift them possession, Everton have no idea what to do with the ball.

That sums up Everton.

Zouma had plenty of time on the ball then but decided to just hoof the ball out of play for a throw in.

Davy Klaasen. 7 league appearances. £23 million

Anyone remember James McCarthy? What happened to him, I remember us being linked with him.

Firminho is good to come in? I see he's warming up. We need Liverpool to not win this game.

No chance Southampton will go down. Actually interested to see what they do next season, think Hasselhuttl was their best managerial appointment since Pochenttino.
I agree with you. I've been a fan of Hasenhuttl's since his Ingolstadt days, and whilst he wasn't too much of a success at Leipzig, I still like him. Looking forward to seeing what he can do in the prem.

Dunno if he can get them playing as well as Pochettino did, though! His Soton team were so fun to watch.

I saw him play a few times for Ajax, good ball player but he didn't look the quickest and the end to end nature of premier league gobbled him up. Think he's doing alright at Bremen.

The only way Liverpool are winning this game is through a mistake from an Everton player or an undeserved penalty.

Fortunately, Liverpool never get that kind of luck.
