Absolutely needs to stay. In fact it's a foregone conclusion. I wanted Poch but one thing he can't do that Ole can is instill the United tradition that's been lacking in our dressing room. Our never say die attitude and most importantly the SAF mentality to stay hungry even during successful periods. Poch is a nice guy competitor. i havent yet seen that edge in his teams.
Poch has more of an edge to him than his team does, grumpy bugger.
The job he has done at United is absolutely incredible. PSG might have played some fantastic football but United managed that game expertly and exactly like Ole said they would.
They were a goal down in the second half but didn't push for an equaliser until the last 10-15 minutes. The key was to be in the game and let the psychology of the game (needing just one goal to go through) to take over.
They played it like the United of old, a team who built that winning mentality over a quarter of a century under Fergie. After losing it for 5.5 years, Ole has got that winning mentality back in 2-3 months. There isn't another manager on the planet (except Paul Ince obviously) who could have done that.
There isn't even a question over whether he'll get the job now. He's as certain to be United manager at the start of next season as Fergie was for the 1999/2000 season.

I was actually quite upset and irritated by what Ince said but there is a way in which Ole is making it look easy... making it look like anyone could do it. It's only when you think how many records he is breaking that it becomes clear that there's something going on here.
What is even more comforting for me is that he is definitely not doing anything out of character - he is just being himself. This is comforting because I know that I won't wake up tomorrow and be dealing with a negative manager... I won't wake tomorrow and be dealing with a manager who has no respect for Manchester United. I feel like I can trust the man first and foremost, even before I trust the manager. I trust that he has a heart for Manchester United exactly as I do... not because I make a living of it (I certainly don't); but simply because I love this club... I'm a fan through and through... and he is too.
Honestly, I would actually like that they just tell us already that they've given him the job... what's the point in waiting? (well, apart from the superstitious among us...) It's not like the world is wondering anymore...

The most significant thing that separates Ole from Jose/LVG/Moyes IMO, is the unquestionable love for the club. You just can’t buy that!

Honestly... The way Ole managed that game... I'd say that was Quieroz era SAF in Europe. We've been knocked out like this in the past and been made to look naive or second tier. That though, that was top tier management.
I was already sold on Ole, but it's like I still can't believe what I'm seeing. The potential is crazy.
Will Phelan be kept on? And will we bring Muelensteen back? These are the main questions now for me.
Phelan will obviously be kept on if he wants it, seems completely unlikely and unneeded to bring back Muelensteen when things are working well with the current setup.
The Caf gave Ole a pass before the match, as long as we weren’t embarrassed the match was a write off. OGS was having none of it, he only went and done it! Absolutely beautiful!

Muelensteen was credited by Ferguson as the man who helped coach Ronaldo and create that amazing attack we had between 06 and 09. If he really is that good, he could make the setup even better.

of course I wouldn't. We're in desperate need of investment across the squad. I think you have to keep faith in McKenna and Carrick personally, with the experience of Phelan and Ole, it's a good mix. Too many cooks spoil the both.

I used to wonder how Ole as a sub would come off the subs bench and score so regularly.
Now I see him as a manager and its obvious - he has a fantastic ability to read the game from the stands.

During them 6 years with the bad management outside and on the pitch, seemed like we never return to something close to what we been used to over the decades. Wasn't so much trophies im talking about, it was the woeful football and nothing close to what you would say is United.
