Internationals March (Euro Qualifiers + Friendlies)

Belgium starting XI against Russia:

Courtois

Alderweireld Boyata Vertonghen

Castagne Tielemans Dendoncker T.Hazard

Mertens Batshuayi E.Hazard(C)
There's a lot of hazard going on on that left side.

If a player pulls out injured from a competitive international game, they should not be eligible for the next club game.

Need a rest? Refuse the call up.

The injury could clear up before the next club game...

And hurt the ego of the NT coach. Making it all the more difficult to get into the NT again.
In some teams, like say French, there is a pool of talents to choose from. If a youngster says he needs rest, then he might not get picked for many games.
If he goes to NT and is deemed not fit, then it will be viewed differently.

Aren't there any Scottish players playing for any top clubs bar McTominay?

Injuries. Robertson and Tierney are excellent obviously, as has Fraser been this season for Bournemouth. McKenna is another good prospect but needs to iron out his naivety which he's still prone to. Problem is that we have no striker of quality at all.

That was quick . Might as well watch the England u21 game.

Russian GK just kicked a goal kick over his own back line (yeah, I know) and had to re-do it. Never knew that wasn’t a corner.

130th ranked Kosovo almost beat 10th ranked Denmark. Conceded equaliser in added time.

Is that Alexander Hleb? The guy who played for Arsenal in what feels like the 90s?

CBs were standing next to the box to receive the ball, close to the back line. Keeper just misplaced his pass, tragic
Don't you have to play it out of the box for it to be legal? It only makes sense if you think about it!

Croatia down

Hmm, don’t know if the ball went out of it, maybe that was it yeah. So the keeper can’t make an own goal from a goal kick?

Just looked it up and it's a no.
Here's another one in the I didn't know that category..

Whereas, if the goal keeper (or any player) is taking a free kick (direct or indirect) outside of their own penalty area and somehow put the ball with no further touches into their own goal, then the opposing team is awarded a corner kick.

Memphis now on the same amount of international goals as Koeman. In half as many games. Those are some good stats for Koeman really, seeing as he was a cb

A confident Memphis is such a mixed bag. It's fun to watch, but it instantly goes to his head.
