UEFA Champions League Quarter Final fixtures (9th - 10th, 16th - 17th April 2019)

Spurs knock out City - no quadruple
City win league - Liverpool don’t
We knock out Liverpool in semis - 4 years and no trophy for Klopp.
Utd beat Juve in final with a last minute OG from Ronaldo .

Guardiola seemed to be going for not losing tonight and his team did. Quite amusing but Tottenham did defend quite well.

Kane trying to be a hard man all game was also rather rib-tickling...

What about our dodgy penalty against PSG?

There is no corruption. No one paid the ref.

VAR is shite, that’s all.

The lack of recent success has turned some United fans into Scousers.

BT coverage is embarrassing. They are really digging in on this handball.

And once Pochettino actually does take a team to that next level, then say hes better than klopp all you want. Until he does, he has nothing to stand on.
You cannot just take a team to the next level without board backing you. Poch has spent nothing this season and is still doing his best to have spurs finish in top 4.

I like your thinking but playing Ajax in the final so the weatherman can say we played Real Madrid and United played Ajax While his teeth shine brighter than the sun and the wind blowing him far, far away.

There's an alarming number of decisions going there way and not against them and given the wankathon over them it's not far fetched for me to believe they are getting help and the officials are knowingly giving them the benefit of the doubt.

You’ll be telling us next it was Klopp who was on the grassy knoll.

Dodgy penalty? It was a nailed on pen. Truth is, the Scouse have had an entire season of ridiculous decisions go their way.

A strangely subdued performance from us. Had a bad feeling all night, from once I saw Delph and Mahrez starting and no Bernardo to when the penalty was given, just didn't feel like we were up for it at all. Still expected us to get away with a 0-0 but that's a horrible score to go into a second leg with. Spurs can sit back and play in the knowledge they just can't lose by two goals. Pep took far too long to use his subs, his away record in Europe really needs scrutinising. Overall I found the game dull more than anything else. I'm still yet to find the CL as gripping as I do when watching City domestically.

Really impressive from Spurs. That was a Poch match through and through — tight pressing, careful ball movement, tenacious from start to finish. Sets up a great second leg.

Liverpool definitely lucky with the Salah incident, but this place cracks me up. Liverpool cruised to a 2 nil and literally had an onside goal wrongly ruled out, and they’re somehow made out to be stealing a living. That tie is over, anyways.

1-0 isnt much against city they can easily score 3 or 4 but city is susceptible of collapsing under pressure. If spurs score one in early minutes of second leg, i can totally see City conceding 2-3 more and even losing premier league title. Its like city players only believe in themselves when they are on good run of form. One defeat and you see them playing like headless chicken i.e. December 2018 and when they lost 4 after losing their match againt liverpool.

Whats so strange about what I said? Spurs have struggled to keep clean sheets away from home lately, and I dont think they've kept one away at City in a while
It's what I said.

Pep's management of the game has been absolutely terrible.

100% focused on the league. Can almost guarantee he'll play Delph, Otamendi, Mahrez, Gundogan again next Wednesday. If Ederson has a knock he'll be rested too. Pep shares his fans' desires: league AT THE EXPENSE OF Champions League.

Ridiculous stat.

When is the media going to start picking up on this CL away record of Peps? Even when we were breaking home record nearly every week for defeats in the disaster Moyes season his team couldn't beat us.

After only winning the CL when he has the best club side probably of all time, I'd imagine the C L is the focus for him. And the fans

City's away strip looks like the kit for an Orange Order sports day.

Can they retrospectively ban him? Thats a red all day long

Don't think, because of VAR.

That's why i understand so much footballers nowdays. You have to go to the ground, you have to scream.. just to get the right decision. The Porto player took it like a men.

Don’t think I can watch tomorrow to be honest. Just gonna be us playing tumescent shit trying to survive. Making sure to get the pogba slander in a day earlier.
I kind of agree. Our recent form has made some very apathetic to the build up of what should've been a exciting clash. I might be logging off for a few days if we get beaten up badly.

Horrible challenge didn't play the ball should have been straight red.

I assume he was diving all night too but just saw the gif's of the controversial incidents.
Said it in the other thread. Wasn't enough to be a red for me. Didn't endanger his opponent/use reckless force in the tackle.

There's no precedent for this at all. Retrospective action is only for something the referee didn't see, which normally is not a bad tackle.

Spurs have done well to set themselves up for a humiliating turnaround next week.

It is silly to think it is deserved. Got plenty of more of those cheap ones recently too.

My guess is corruption to be honest. We know how shady the City owners are. I would guess they have payed some persons in the VAR team.

Two favorite posts in the thread thus far
