With regards to the Jon and Dany discussion
I get that people think he went early with taking her, or he could have lied. But IMO that was that best time to tell her, given there was the nice segway into the discussion.
It would have been really awkward otherwise, especially if he told her after the defeated the WW's and then Cersie.
It also looked to me like Jon hadn't considered the fact he is ahead of her in the order of succession. At least that's what I got out of his reaction to her saying that you're the last/only male heir.

Daenerys has Jon killed to consolidate her power. Both remaining dragons die in the final battle but she ascends the throne. A reanimated Drogon emerges during her coronation and after a brief emotional reunion, he torches her and removes his face to reveal Arya. Arya and Gendry are then crowned and begin to get it on on the iron throne. CGI nipple reveal. End credits.

This show has managed to turn Arya into some horny teenager. This show has somehow made me like Sansa more than Arya. This makes me angry. Also there is no universe where Jaime Lannister walks into Winterfell and isn't at least put into chains. Even the Starks aren't that stupid. It almost feels like Ned, Rob and Catelyns deaths meant nothing to say nothing of Bran being pushed out of a window which Catelyn had discovered. The idea that the others didn't know this is farcical. Really just want the show to get onto the final battle so this can end and I can go on eternally waiting for the next book to be released.

As the show has constantly pointed out: right now, all the past and the politics is irrelevant, with the dead on their doorstep. Maybe that will change afterwards.
That's up there with The Howling II as the greatest end scene/credits ever.
There's no time to make stuff like that, even if they could. They need to pump out weapons for everyone they can, that's the priority.
David Benioff recently said in an interview that the inspiration for Arya's character arc came from seeing Wile E Coyote on ACME rocket skates.

They all expect to die any minute, basically just killing time until it happens, Arya wanting to experience love/sex before she dies isn't outrageous at all, if anything it's a bit cliche.
I would expect Jaime got escorted to Dany and the Starks right away, where several trusted people vouched with their lifes for him, so it was decided not to harm him.
I'm not happy with how the first two episodes were told, but these decisions were believable.
But
all of the corpses are entombed. I doubt that they'd be able to move the granite/rock slabs that they are under

Did you miss the bit where he's put to the queen and the only people who actually know him vouch for his character? Not too mention Bran can see everything hence why he's waiting for him and would know he has good intentions, hence why he doesn't drop him in it like he did with Littlefinger.

As a history geek, who has devoted probably thousands of hours studying military tactics from antiquity and the medieval period, I wish most shows would just skip battles all together. They never do them right. It's always the same old "Let's have everyone line up in a reasonable facsimile of real regimentation and formation, and then everyone just fecking charge into a giant cluster feck of single combat where you can get murdered from behind at any moment, cause feck yea!"
The battle of the bastards is one of the absolute worst representations of this sort of combat I've ever seen. The opening scene of Alexander, the battle of Gaugamela, is probably the best. Vikings early on wasn't horrible, very small scale, but at least they fought with some degree of self preservation, but later on in the series it became a cluster feckfest. HBO Rome did "ok" in the few battles they depicted. Gladiator did so well until the cohorts in the opening battle said "formation? use our shields? Naaa feck this let's yolo into the Germans yippie kiyay!".
Meh episode. Was more of a build-up to the third.
On the bright side, looks like the business truly gets started from the 3rd episode. Judging by the fact that the war with the White Walkers begins now, it is clear that the Night's King will be defeated by the 4th or 5th episode. Which means, the true finale will be a battle against Cersei and Euron at King's Landing as well as how Jon deals with Dany when she inevitably sees him as a rival for the throne.
Good because I didn't think the White Walkers should upstage Cersei as the main event.

Also, Bran seemed to hint Jaime would die when he said there is no guarantee of an "afterwards". Though we already knew that was likely of course.
I actually think the opposite to this, I think it'll be a huge letdown if Cersei is the main event. The White Walkers are the very starting point of the show and we're constantly told the true war lies to the north, the real war between the living and the dead etc etc. Just seems to go against everything to get rid of that overarching plot line midway through the season and then go back to the iron throne.
I mean such a big deal was made of them being this unstoppable force and needing to band together. If they can defeat them with a divided Westeros so quickly that'd be a huge anti-climax for me personally.

I liked the episode... yeah it was a lot of set-up and stuff, but considering a lot of these people are probably going to die in the next episode, you kind of need to give them all a bit of screen-time to make their deaths a bit more impactful next week.
Plus there were some good character moments, mainly for Tormund, Jaime and Brienne... and there was a decent amount of Doctor Onion (aka the best GoT character around) so I was happy with that.

On the bad/weird side... That Arya sex scene was just and a bit gross... in fact, all her scenes were the weakest parts of the episodes. I'm sure she's a lovely person, but Maisie Williams is now the clear worst actor on this show... she is really, really bad.

Did Rickon serve any purpose throughout this series? He was a Stark, so you'd think he'd do/mean something, but the only thing he did was die.
Yeah her and Bran. Child actor syndrome. Same with all that Harry Potter lot. I guess there's no time to fit in acting classes with all that schoolwork. Must be weird because you spend all you childhood pretending to be a child and then don't know how to pretend to be an adult when you grow up.
I really enjoyed that episode. Lots of good character interactions and setup for the big battle. A million times better than episode one, that's for sure. It was also nice to get an episode where characters weren't time-warping everywhere and were just in the same location, interacting in typical GoT fashion. Sure, the writing isn't what it used to be but it was a lot better than the writing in episode one. Interactions actually felt fleshed out instead of these 30 second reunions before it moves on to the next one.

Something has to happen at K.L for sure because they made a big deal of showing us the start of snow there at the end of last season and even during the opening cinematic we see K.L's defense mecanism that include these big ass spears (to kill dragons)
Seems highly likely that the battle of Winterfell will be won by the white walkers and the final showdown will take place at King’s Landing, possibly with wildfire being the living’s trump card.

Or Bran killing Danny by warging into Jon whilst they’re making love and taking his sword to her but Bran is actually Arya wearing Brans face but real Bran actually warged into Danny so Jon would kill the night king who ‘real’ Bran is partly possessed by.
Ah yes, his reaction must just be due to her reaction.
