Workrate and pressing - good and good.

Look like a lost sheep on the right but he kept on trying.
Much better and more natural on the left where he can then drive past and having a go at defenderss.

Don't think he's going to do it here, though that doesn't mean he's a poor play in general.

He should trim his hair shorter, that may improve his vision.

He needs to play, and play against men. He's still very raw and has a lot to learn. Maybe a loan back to some Dutch club.

Think a loan where he can get regular first team football will do him a world of good. He's definitely more pace rather than talent, but he does have some talent as well, and a lot of times players like that can just click and really progress. Definitely some bulking up to do though, and refining his game. Greenwood and Gomes look brilliant already from a technique point of view, and you can see clear potential, Chong is a lot more raw but it wouldn't be out of nowhere if he also made the step up.
Purely out of being realistic, if Greenwood and Gomes become actual important United players, Chong isn't going to. 3 attackers from the same youth team making it at once isn't happening.

A season in the lower leagues would be apt experience,in my opinion.
He's got talent, though I feel his body structure will require patience.

That hair man, does him zero favours. As harsh as it sounds he's never gonna make it here, as a winger especially.

Had one really good run, and was one of the few player in the first half that actually tried to attack players. Though did look a little lost at times

He's not ready for first team football I'm afraid.

A loan to a championship club where he may get minutes is the best option.

From what I have seen from him in the reserves and for the 1st team I don't see enough ability to make it, however he is there, so there is something the coaches see in him. Just glad that we are getting youth players involved again in numbers, starting to feel like our club again.

He should get loaned to a Dutch club. Reasoning is that the Championship doesn't protect attacking players as much as the Eredivisie does, and seeing as he lacks physically, and is still raw with his decision making, you shouldn't put both areas of weakness under more stress. Let him develop his decision making first in the Eredivisie, and then challenge his physicality after he's done a bit of normal physical maturation.

Agree. Maybe we could persuade Jaap to take him at Feyenoord for a year

Personally just dont see anything in him at all ability wise, he certainly runs and runs though

Haven't seen much of him before today, bar those sporadic first team appearances last season.

Harsh to judge ability on a first pre-season game, but his touch did look very heavy a lot of the time.

He's always stood out in the youth teams because of his endeavour, pace and dribbling - maybe when he fills out he won't be knocked off the ball as much and he'll improve a lot as a player up against men, but I still think he has issues with composure and a lack of game intelligence to overcome as well. Got a long way to go, but not impossible for him.

Impressive performance against Leeds, not just the move for the penalty but several runs off the ball that would have been dangerous but for his team-mates over-hitting the pass. Looked a real threat.

I think he can contribute to the first team in the PL this season if used sensibly.

Agreed, great observation. I think Gomes is ahead of him as a footballer at the moment.

Full credit to him that was his strongest first team performance, looked very confident. I get the impression playing so close to Gomes helped him feel more comfortable in the team.

Very good work in the pen. Looks better on the left, like all our players anyway.

Looks like playing Chong and Gomes together are to get them gel'd into the first team squad quickly as they both know one another plays. As soon as it clicks and they're all on the same page, they'll be very entertaining to watch.

He was great today, goes to show how important preseason is for some of these younger players when the pressure is lower and they can get a feel for it.

Not convinced. Seems clumsy.

Gomes has a better chance of making it and Greenwood too.

Best performance yet today, looked a proper threat. Great work on the pen.

That was a good performance. Just needs to get stronger, once he can ride challenges he can show his dribbling a bit more and show his talent more. He looks the least ready out of the attackers so far.

I wouldn't underestimate him at this stage, that's all.

He looks better on the left. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we sign Sancho and he ends up being slightly better on the left.

He doesn't look like giving up despite still undeveloped physical side.

There's a brave player there with blistering pace.

Of all the youngsters, Chong and Garner are the two I feel need to go on loan this season. They need more experience.

I'm off the opposite opinion. If I had to choose 1 player from the current crop of youngsters, who's going to have the best career, id put my money on this guy.

His speed, workrate and position will afford him more opportunity and leniency.

And its not like he's technically poor. He's just poor compared to Gomez and Greenwood who have an absurd amount of ability.

He looks so, so, so green, yet, now, he's got some momentum going. So many flaws, yet so many possibilities.

His best match in a first-team jersey. With that said, he's still raw and should be sent on loan.
