Im sorry but we dont have any god given right to be at the top; we were there because we earned it. And to get back there, we need to earn it again. Not selling our soul to become some Saudi prince's plaything.

We're the richest club in terms of income! We deserve a lot more than the fecking garbage we're settling for.

Crap footy, crap signings, plucky Cardiff managers etc - feck off, this is Manchester United mate!

It was my pleasure to host the top management of @ ManUtd last night at my home in the presence of high level gov officials and social elite. RA is a 12 year friend and this was a purely social event. This was pure Arab hospitality
The deeper you go the more you uncover. The word from what it seems on arab twitter is that it's very plausible that man utd is almost a signature away from being the propety of Muhammed ibn Salman

I wonder where a poll would end up on whether this would be good news or not? Lots of Anti-Glazer folks on the caf but also lots of anti-Saud members as well. Hmm...

I’m no fan of the Saudis but (half) hoping there’s some truth to this simply for the pissboiling it will cause everywhere. City and Chelsea have had owners with extremely sketchy backgrounds with years yet nobody in the media seems to care much but just you watch the incandescent rage which will appear if we are under Saudi ownership...

Definitely gonna be the case if this happens. All of a sudden they'll all be questioning these clubs and they'll ignore that we already had lots of money and be lumped in with the others.

Looks like it is happening. Not sure how I should feel about this.

Short cut out all the daft, white knight, 'outrage' and just admit it - you're fecking excited, as should every United fan be if this happens.

The Glazers have milked this club and overseen one of the most clueless, insulting to fans, useless regimes that Elite footy has ever witnessed.

Lets get some fecking ambitious owners who will contribute to the wealth we already make and let us flourish again.

Exactly what will happen. Once Mufc are also part of the Oil money hierarchy, I'd bet my life savings that the FA, UEFA and Fifa will all come down harder, and making an example of United has always been their biggest pinpoint in probing a point. Feck them I say, and hope its true, just for all the salty tears from the ABU.

Don't want to break the giddy meter just yet but can confirm Nico Gaitan will be announced tomorrow(Saturday), the takeover on the Sunday, Wayne Rooney will get a job as a specialist fitness coach and David Moyes will take over from the retiring Fred the Red.

More later, much later

Spoiler alert, ffs.

Only linkedin message the guy might have said it in sarcasm. Any actual reliable links?

Not just them, but the media, and all the other fans will act like we never had the money and we're just another sugar daddy club. All that this ownership would do (presumably) is allow us to actually use it well, with a safety net if we waste money.

To be rid of the Glazers would be amazing. They have been parasites and turned us into losers in the process. I don't see anyone bringing up their owners when City play amazing football dominating the league. We would be competitive again and they would put us back where we belong as the biggest club in England. Sounds pretty good to me.

There's pictures of united meeting them

They wouldn't deny that the clubs sold

I would bet my wifes savings on that too.

City's owners get rightfully brought up all the time. Because they're terrible. As are the House of Saud.

I don't want to be like city and Chelsea. This would be horrible, another push to give up on football.
It won't be we are well established and generate our own funding. Now Utd will get cash injections instead of cash vacuum I guess. Unlike City and Chelsea they needed this to compete but we really didn't need that at all.

literally everyone brings up City’s owners. Everyone. Consistently. It makes them a joke of a club, hence everyone wanting the Scousers to lose to them despite them being literally about twenty minutes from OT.

Saudi Arabia is an oil funded state that is barbaric. Literally barbaric. They don’t allow women or people of certain ethnicities to perform at sporting events.

Manchester United means more than winning leagues. It means so so much fecking more than that. I feel proud of Manchester United and their history. I wouldn’t be proud of a multi billion dollar hierarchy using the club to sports wash their standing in the world.

It would absolutely break my heart if this was to happen. My old mans as well. Plus a few more of my mates. We just want to see a team we like, who cares about us giving it a good go.

“Other clubs owners are never mentioned”

Am I in a bizarro world? Man City’s owners and PSG’s owners are constantly mentioned. Constantly.

No surprise that the Glazers, after the amount of unparalleled ineptitude sustained thus far, have a bungle of these proportions left up their clown sleeves.

I was going to reply to that until I saw you already had.

City winning the league is the equivalent to the competition being called off - nobody cares because nobody sees it as legitimate.

I don't want us to be like that, let alone owned by those feckers.

feck the house of Saud, stay the feck away from our club.

Way too much smoke without fire on this one.

why would Arnold be in Abu Dhabi still, meeting top Saudi investors? Just by coincidence?

unless the glazers are trying to earn a huge chunk by selling say 49% of shares but still remaining majority shareholder, but I can’t see the Saudis happy doing that.

IMO this is happening. it’ll be announced in the summer.

The moment man utd is sold it will be announced instantly, if not by the club then by reputable individuals

I can't help noting there's feck all on the BBC or Sky Sports about it.

Nothing from anyone anywhere, except a post on some PR non-entity's Linkedin page from 18 hours ago. That's all there is to go on. Seems highly implausible at this stage.

Nothing more than a rumor at this stage, but there's enough smoke to take an active interest in these rumors.

I'd hate to see medieval barbarians take control of the club, but if they do I hope they have the good sense to hire top football men (whoever they may be) to run the club and stay the fekk out of the business other than allowing the club to be run properly. Wishful thinking perhaps, but that is what I hope.

Aye and let's not forget our rich history of supporting murderers and war criminals.

Are the green devils buying the red devils on Halloween?

He's there for the Future Investment Initiative, along with literally thousands of other attendees from businesses all over the world.

I'm afraid I couldn't disagree more.
This isn't Fifa and using a cheat to get more money. This club is built on more than just being a business and the moral implications of being ruled by these people would sadden me and many others to the core.

The quality of City is a remarkable sporting achievement. It reflects positively on Guardiola, Aguero, Sterling, D Silva, KDB etc. But it manages to reflect nothing on the club because of the way they came to have all this great talent.
