Saudi's know feck all about football structure though. We will essentially have richer Glazers. They might or might not appoint the right people to the job, nothing is given.

I will still support the club if this happens, but no way I'd like this outcome.

You don't need a PhD in Business and Management to know that you don't sell a business that is profitable. Too much smoke without a fire IMO. Saudis, one of Glazers supposedly selling his shares etc. It can be connected as it's a perfect time to buy us I think. Lowest share price since forever, we are struggling like we never did for 30 years, we will not be playing in CL for 2nd season in a row which means we lose sponsorship money etc. If there is a time to buy us, it's now. Regarding Saudis, I have internal conflict just like many of you I guess. I don't want them anywhere near the club but on the other hand, nobody is rich enough to buy us from Glazers and with them we are on the clear path to mediocrity. With Saudis we would have a chance to refurbish a stadium which is well overdue, maybe build a new stadium for women's team and of course I don't think they would settle for a disastrous position we are in now. I don't think they would buy us to see us fighting for TOP 10. For Glazers it's fine as long as they get their share. People saying they will stop supporting United are overreacting as always or I would question your support in the first place. Do you support the CLUB or the owner?

Businesses don't always remain profitable and if somebody were to come in with a very big offer they'd be very tempted to take it.

Well United doesn't and won't generate 4bn through dividends, the Glazers don't have 4bn in cash and it's not their main business, which is commercial real estate, that's three reasons to sell. With 4bn, they gain the capacity to finance whatever they want in their main business and they will also have a lot more cash to do whatever they want.

Exactly. People need to understand what the Saudis are trying to do, generally I mean. There is a reason MBS has allowed women to drive, to put in plans that more women work, cinema's now being open for the first time since the 70's amongst other things. Doing a lot more for the women's team could be something that they do.

Also let's not forget, we used to have a women's team previously and it was shut down.

Yeah, a few months ago I was reading about commercial real estate being down in the last years. I think that one of the issue was linked to the fact that many businesses closed due to the competition of internet

No one is going to give them 4bn in cash. The Saudi’s are not idiots.

This is not the right time to sell either. Can’t see them entertaining a deal at the moment.

Will be interesting to watch the developments. They have lost almost a £1bn of value of United, mainly due to poor on the field performances and there is nothing to suggest they can make up that deficit. And if they do attempt to, they will need to invest a lot more, which I can't see them doing!

What are you talking about? By your logic if a business was making £10M profit a year but now only £100 its still a good investment? What would of happened to the actual value?

The perfect investment is when you buy low, push the price up and sell on the downturn. This is essentially the Glazers and Man Utd.

For what its worth I wanted to mention yesterday but have been too lazy to check it. Do you remember the rumour about the Sauds becoming minority owners instead of actually purchasing the club, I seem to remember that but wonder if I imagined it?

Money isn't an issue for them at all and by no means an incentive for them either. Glazers are just milking the shit out of our revenues, there's a massive difference in their intentions. City's owners wouldn't have had much of an idea but the difference is they have employed credible employees for the relevant roles needed to perform whereas we have a bunch of amateurs in very senior positions in the club.

As things stands United isn't that profitable if their is no CL next seasons. Even making the Europa league is unlikely.

Think of Man Utd as like a big hotel in Brighton in the early 60s.

Historically a great profitable business. But now cheap package holidays to Spain are available and the hotel needs major repairs.


Then some rich dude comes along and wants to pay over the odds.

It's a no brainer for the Glazers if they are putting up £3bn+. Unless their is the possibility of United doing their own TV deal-highly unlikely in the medium term.
 
Will happen sometime. Just think it'll happen in the next 3-5 years rather than anytime soon. The current re-structuring if successful will increase the value of the club to a value they'll be happy to sell at.
 
A takeover is our only way out. Whoever the buyer is, they need to be driven to succeed and push the club forward. Our owners are cnuts of the highest order and nothing in the structure of the club will change until they leave.
