Fair enough!
I just thought that maybe we have other thread to discuss about moral and political issues, no?
What’s wrong with discussing it on this thread?
Fair enough!

You missed my point. Football isn't a subject important enough to ever justify putting ethics aside.
Would you stop following United if the Saudis bought us?
Please be true.
I for one is not interested in the moral or political side of things whoever takeover man utd.

Hahaha
Bring on King Jong-un, who cares as long as they bring money!!!
seriously, you want your club taken over by murdering dictators?
Glazers don’t want to sell and Saudi’s don’t want to buy. The Saudi’s may well bug a football club in near future but it’s very unlikely to be Utd. It will be cheaper, easier and create less bad press and opposition to buy someone with a lower profile.
Your reference was to The British Empire lad/boy/girl. I know all about recent history and don’t agree with all of it. This does not justify atrocities committed by others.
I for one is not interested in the moral or political side of things whoever takeover man utd.
As of now, we are badly in need of our owner to do the following in order for man utd to be successful again:
1) To appoint a CEO or DOF who is competent to implement a football structure to the club (see Man City structure)
2) To revamp the structure of appointing a manager with style of football, continuity, succession plan all properly planned out far in advanced.
3) To revamp our scouting system and youth development
4) To allocate a big transfer budget for proper rebuild as we are in need of 5-6 quality signings in the next 2-3 summers after we have proper structure in the club
5) Stadium and training facilities in need of upgrade.
These are the things which I think the new owner (regardless its Saudi or not) will implement instead of Glazer/Ed.
I wouldnt
We can stay with the glazers while the club goes down the shitter but with our moral heads held high and let the Saudis buy a club like Spurs,Arsenal or Liverpool and see if their fans give a shit while they are hoovering up trophys.
The team, stadium and training ground require investment plus the whole footballing structure needs root and branch reform and it's not going to happen under the glazers.

This.I got to be honest and I don’t care who buys United provided they do the right thing for the club and get us back to winning trophies.
I get why people have moral issues with Saudi Arabia but I don’t believe anyone would walk away from the club if they took over.
Some of their fans won’t give a shit same as some of ours, other fans will give a shit.
It depends if you think winning trophies and investing money is more important than decency.
As for spending unlimited monopoly money and hoovering up trophies sounds like city to me and unlike Moyes I don’t aspire to be like them. Where is the challenge? Where is the satisfaction? The soul would be ripped out of the club!
Any team can do that. Not any team can do what Leicester, Nott Forest did or dominate like Liverpool and we did due to money earned from being a successful football club and having a history to be proud of.
Turn on a football manager game and play it in cheat mode and see how bored and little satisfaction you get.
Yeah we could get bought out, dodge financial fair play rules and buy the best 20 players in the world and hoover up trophies left right and centre. Would you feel the same satisfaction as when we won the league with class of class
of 92 at the core? How would this fit with our history and tradition?
I’d rather we take on these type of clubs than join them even if it means winning leas often as the wins would mean something and represent decency

Yeah and what about those Spanish feckers as well, nearly wiping out the entire Mayan civilisation, you won’t catch me going to Spain for me hols because of it and don’t even get me started on the bloody vikings, going berserk in York and wot not, I’ll never forgive ‘em, the fact that Ole is in charge of my football club makes my blood boil grrrrrr!British people, citizens of one of the bloodiest empires in history, talking shit about other countries murders. We shouldnt be sold to the Saudis but stop with the holier than though bullshit. Same for you yanks by the way.
I'm not sure the glazers don't want to sell as one of them looks like he's up for selling up and as the cash cow is now drying up and because of the investment needed in the team and infastructure I'm sure more of the parasites will want to cash in.
Tne club will not move forward untill they are gone.
I got to be honest and I don’t care who buys United provided they do the right thing for the club and get us back to winning trophies.

Kevin Glazer isn’t looking to sell, that’s been cleared up it was just media speculation and rumours. They aren’t looking to sell, they will milk club for much before they do.
Why would we need to dodge the FFP rules? We actually make plenty of money. Just a lot of it isn't reinvested into the club due to various different outgoings ranging from servicing debts, paying director fees, dividends etc.
Yes City and PSG got an upper hand before FFP and have since got stricter. Yes City are known to fiddle the books for FFP but we really wouldn't need to for transfers. Any immediate money from Saud or Chinese would be to reinvest into the stadium and training ground...to make up for the shite that Glazers have left us.
This
when the club was the best team in the land we upgraded the stadium by building 2 new stands and then 2 new quadrants plus we built a new training ground to make sure Manchester United where always the prime club.
It seems to have stopped around 2005 for some reason![]()
Maybe because the last expansion was finished in 2006 and that you don't really do these type of things every other years?

The quadrants where already half way through when the glazers took over so the get no credit for that upgrade to the stadium.
Oh and by the way we where debt free and had 36 million in the bank.
They're coming because an Ad with women boxing in it played on Sky sports? If anyone is watching Sky Sports Main Event channel right now, will see the Saudi advert about their country. 3-4 different ladies as tour guides and one of the women showing her boxing skills in the gym. If anyone was in doubt, the Saudis are coming. They will go after a sports team & more than likely it's United. They're coming.
Exactly mate. Trying to argue this in here is like banging your head against a brick wall.It doesn’t matter the subject but as soon as the Top Reds and the moral high brigades takes over then the rest is a parade in political correctness and left influenced statements.
Because some of us don’t condemn the Saudis as new owners doesn’t mean we don’t care about all the injustices or approve there medieval methods. Such a lame attempt to prove guilt by association.
I believe that there is a much better chance to influence if we have something in common, are open to debate or willing to communicate. Saudi Arabia has ultra modern cities, they invest in the latest high technology and some of the younger generations of leadership understands that they have to transform their society and kingdom to be more modern in order to survive.
Things like this takes time. Braking up old structures, removing religious power and move forward isn’t easy. Powerful old leaders don’t easily accepts changes without fighting back.
Saudi Arabia will gradually move in the right direction regarding equality and civil rights. Young people, strong women and progressive citizens will make this happen, it’s in the end a matter of time.
Boycotting is powerful if we want them to become more fundamental and less willing to change. Dialogue and acceptance is way more powerful if changes is our goal.

You really want this to happen.
I don’t know what your referring to pal, you’ve obviously no fair sided non-exaggerated response then I take itHahaha you get funnier by the minute! Did you used to write scripts for “Til Death Us Do Part”?
You really want this to happen.
Not particularly, no. I'm just saying I want a total revamp from the board, the management staff, to investment in OT and the training ground. Do the current owners/board inspire me? Totally not.
But also, with the Saudi's aggressively trying to change their image, it's only a matter of time they will take over either us or Lfc (imo).
Glazers don’t want to sell
Saudi’s don’t want to buy.
I don't know.
