Could they void the PL due to the Coronavirus? | No | Resuming June 17th

I am not saying China hasn't stabilized it, but that a lot of what it says were not believable & the death toll was likely to be much worse.

The bit about the other far east countries getting it under control is interesting, & has been puzzling myself for awhile. When this virus started the countries most affected not including China, were Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan & South Korea. Ignore the latter two who for various reasons got out of control, but the others have somehow gotten it under control, which makes little sense, as most of them are the sort of places where an virus like this would thrive. Now, there were suggestions that the Coronavirus was like Flu & other viruses that are seasonal. How true that is I don't know, but it just seems strange how the viruses just stopped in those countries, & has never really settled in countries south of the equator, except when they have travelled in. I hope this is true & the damn thing is seasonal & slowly goes away around the world. Just have to wait & see.
Even in Korea and Japan, now it has definitely slowed down, it's very visible in term of numbers and deaths. So it's happening, I think.

Why are the "experts" and "scientists" in this country compeltely at odds with those from pretty much the rest of the world?

Mendy is in self isolation now, surely they can't expect teams to play whilst first team players are stuck at home.

Well the vid I just saw on YT has the PM basically just saying a bunch of people will lose loved ones, like it's matter of fact.

Gotta keep that mass hysteria wheel rolling apparently. Meanwhile my brother who lives in China says life is pretty much back to normal there (except for Wuhan).

Maybe because we’re a little behind the rest of the world or certainly the worst hit areas so they have learned from their actions and mistakes.

Or because NHS is so woefully underfunded and hence under prepared they’re trying to delay peak as much as possible.

Or because they have been “influenced” by the Tories to prioritise the economy and social cohesion over public health.

Or maybe they’re just not as bright as other experts and are making the wrong decisions.

Fair cop, could be any of those... Though
isn't restricting social interaction the best way to delay the peak?

I change my mind. You're all right. Mankind is doomed and we're all gonna die.

Scouse-fellating bastards.

This is a national disgrace. Heads should, and hopefully will, roll over this. Selfish cnuts.
Every time I see your username I think of the 77 Cup final. Even though I was only 9 at the time it’s still the game which hurts me most.

Korea and China have seen significant drops due to the drastic steps they took to contain and address the issue. The UK government on the other hand have been slow to react and appear to be prioritising short-term economic prospects over the health of the general public. Even now they're normalising the idea of hundreds or thousands of preventable deaths because they understand the long term consequences of their disgusting decisions.

Apparently the benefits if restricting mass gatherings in terms of spread are small. They may stop them though as it would make available more public services. Trying to get to the truth and understand this whole thing is almost a full time job at this stage. Mountains of info coming from all directions.

Western worlds failure to act swiftly and rapidly is costing us. Need to contain and mitigate ASAP. I read the contagion increases by 40 percent per day of delaying lock downs.

But Leicester have 3 players self isolating. Mendy is self isolating. No doubt there’ll be more tomorrow and Saturday who catch it.

How the feck is this a fair decision?

PL will of course do anything in their power to ensure they don't lose any money and preserve their brand, that's just how they are. The fact that the government doesn't care about the public safety and chose to be completely ignorant of what's happening also doesn't help.

They’ll look back on this decision in six months and think it may go down as the most idiotic stance in modern sporting and societal times. All for the sake of a few meaningless games of football.

Absolutely incredible.

With supporters in attendance? Are they out of their minds?

It's the British government after all.

They're still trying to get the colonies under control, the coronavirus is small potatoes by comparison.

Watch them leap into action if it snows tonight.

absolutely mind blowing. I was looking at it purely from a club/player perspective, but you’re absolutely right.

Thousands and thousands of people could contract the virus this weekend because fans are being allowed at these games. What the feck.

Like F1 48 hours ago, will go pear shaped and be cancelled shortly.

Probably as virus rips through squads. My suspicion is holding games is a mistake, if goes ahead. Will cause acceleration of spread and then all get worse.
