Can you please tell me how many times I’ve been on this thread to criticise Ole? Go on, I’d like to know if you think I’m a regular criticiser of our manager. Have you been stalking everything I post?
All I said was after the Spurs game was that I wish he had brought on Pogba & Greenwood sooner. I believe we would have won the game if they were introduced earlier as both Fred & James were contributing nothing in the game and were needing subbed off. When those two came on, we looked a much better team.
I don’t tend to post on this thread nor any of the player performance threads. Does that mean, I have an agenda against the players because I’m not posting on their performance threads.

We're currently on our 2nd longest unbeaten run since Sir Alex retired.
Our "shite defense" also has the highest number of clean sheets in any unbeaten run in that time, only conceding 3 goals.
Ole's run looks dominant than anyone, even more impressive when you consider the teams we played in this run in.

You can continue to think I'm out of order all you like mate. And maybe you feel unfairly singled out, I just went back and looked at the first few comments immediately after the Spurs game, and they were negative. Yours was one.
My issue is .. and it's not just this thread, it's player threads too (and you'll find me being negative about our players too, I'm not immune), threads grow way faster after bad results. I just find it ... a bit sad that people love to rush in here to bash Ole after a bad game. I wonder why they aren't here so quickly after a great performance?

As I said above to the other poster, apologies if you feel singled out. I just went and looked at the posts immediately following the Spurs game, and they were negative. I wonder why people rush to post the negative ... why not rush back to post positive? It's an odd thing, in my opinion.
I've gone through and included Tottenham and Chelsea's runs from the same period and sorted it with highest games unbeaten. Whats impressive is the amount of clean sheets we've had during this run, it's the joint highest. I'm not planning on doing City or Liverpool as I imagine (City in particular) will fill this table up with far more rows. But I might throw in Arsenal.

He didn't give into fan pressure when we Sold Lukaku and made a very ballsy call to play Martial up top when he hasnt played there for 3/4 years. He played Rashford up top last season and it looked like that is how it is going.
He has managed Pogba brilliantly, always very complimentary of him, kept saying we build around Pogba.
Whatever anyone says about Rashford and Martial, he has improved them. Getting rid of Sanchez and Lukaku in favour of Martial and Rashford was a very huge call
Unfortunately, his faith in Lingard and Perreira never came off but still gave them enough of a chance.

I think your point is a fair one, that people aren't so quick to lavish praise, but are quick to criticise. I have definitely seen it myself in player threads too. From my side though, i have never been unwilling to praise Ole when i have seen the positives. Yesterday i was actually busy with washing the food shopping after the match, so never had a chance to give my thoughts to everyone. I quickly praised Martial and that was it. Rest assured i was very happy with Ole though. It was the best performance i have seen under him so far, hands down.

I would imagine anyone who pledged to give him the entire season. The only thing that would cause us to waver is if he plunged us down the table and the threat of relegation. If he survived the end of last season, then it's clear that the board would give him a full season and evaluate at the end of it. Judging him by each match is just silly.

I haven't wavered since his appointment as caretaker. I even wanted him to take over from moyes in Dec 2013 after our shite performance against spurs.
There's been some good spells under Ole and this is recent one I think has been impressive, however it needs to extend itself for more PL matches.

Regardless, Ole and staff have done a very good job, considering the characters and talents they inherited last year and the growing pains from early this season. It was only a matter of time before the squad improved together and got better individually and as a team, which is a tremendous reflection on Ole and staff.
Need to continue to support Ole and staff for the near-term future and continue to identify, recruit, and sign the correct characters and talent that will continue to improve the senior squad whether it be depth signings or bona fide starting XI players.

Not even the greatest manager of our time Poch managed that.

I have issues with him when he doesn't get it right. To me he is too rigid in some games in his set up. Sometimes we need to play an extra midfield player instead of playing three up front, especially James. Against Spurs it was a mistake to play with James and to keep him so long. I do not have an issue in not starting Pogba, because he was coming back from a very long injury.
When we play Pogba and Bruno, we need to play Matic and if it is against a strong team then we need to play Fred too and play Martial and Rashford up front.

Ole wasn´t ready to take over United in 2013, and some would argue he wasn´t ready one year ago either. But I think he´s growing into it, and I take notice of what Matic and Fred are saying; that he´s a much better manager now than he was when he arrived.

While I have never been Ole out, the early-season performances and results where we won something like 2/9 games pushed me right to the edge, and left me wondering whether I still wanted him in only because of what he did as a player.

There have been a few poor performances such as against Watford, Arsenal and Burnley, but the many good performances with attacking football sandwiching those games do make you stand up and take notice. Since Bruno arrived and took Lingard/Pereira’s place as the creative hub, our style of play and results have just got even better.
And that brings me on to my next point. When comparing league positions after taking into account the average starting 11’s of every team this season and our terrible luck with injuries (Pogba, Marcus and Martial have all been out for lengthy spells), only Klopp, Rodgers, Nuno, Wilder and Dyche has outperformed Ole throughout the season, and only Klopp and Dyche from January onwards. Ole has genuinely turned the tide after it looked as if the waves were swallowing him whole.
To end off, I firmly believe that if we back him with £115m (Dortmund’s asking price) for Sancho and at least £50m for a world class #6, we will come 3rd next year and challenge for the title, if not win it in 2021-22.

Get a CL place and we could increase our chances of Pogba staying and Sancho joining. Two potentially big steps for the progress of our rebuild entering next season. It's looking like 5th will be a CL spot this year so we're on pace
The below shows all of the top 6 clubs unbeaten runs (all comps) since Sir Alex retired. There were 45 runs of 10+ so i've trimmed the table down to 13 and higher.
Whats impressive with our current run is the defensive record, it's one of the best in that table. But our attacking isn't too bad either averaging 2.5 goals per game. That's the 7th highest total. This pretty much ends the debate that our defense isn't very good imo. It's actually superb.

Be interesting to see how many on that list are not United fans as i'm sure at the time there were those saying only idiots and rival fans would vote to keep a Manager who was so obviously out of his depth.

SAF took close to 6 years to start contesting for titles. Jurgen Klopp took 4 years to build the squad title. Ole is now building squad and needs time with a proper personal. We are surely in right direction with right way to play. We are just short of few positions to be consistent.
