In fairness, I believe he may have saved some money on the F-35s but I'd need to fact check that.
This is a well known trick defense contractors employ - by spreading production of high profile military projects across as many states as possible so that members of congress will be disincentivized from voting against the project for fear of losing jobs in their own districts.
Yep. Been doing it for decades. My pop was an upper executive in Raytheon & used to regale me with stories of how utterly corrupt &, often times, inept the governmental defense procurement set up was. He was in that industry from the late 60s to the late 00s so he saw much of the most absurd of it.
