Champions League | Matchday 6

I can never understand why so called Liverpool supporters come onto a United forum to make comments about a live game their team are involved in.. It's just weird.. more so then if they were to be playing against us

Because the moderation is good and the Manchester United fans here aren't dicks about it. Most of them anyway...

Early days but Bayern look very strong, they're still the team to beat.
It was our best game this season so far. We lost 4:1 against Hoffenheim and only won against Hertha with a last minute goal.
Many players looked a bit tired in those games, so I was surprised by the energy today.

4:0 is one, maybe even two goals too high though. Atletico had some good chances and Tolisso and Coman scored goals like they do maybe once every season.

Pretty sure Ajax have had fewer shots on target than we have. We had plenty of chances to kill that game in the second half too.

Edit: We had 16 shots and 6 on target to their 12/5.
They hit the post though, one cleared of the line and missed a tap in doesn’t really tell the whole story.

The Mods should have banned the lot.. I'd never dream of going on a rivals forum.. especially a Liverpool one.

Redcafe is the best football forum around. Not because it's a United forum but because of the many posters supporting different teams.
This diverse group of posters make redcafe an outstanding source of football knowledge and different view points.

So but they were shit and didn't do enough overall. They were bound to have a go at us knowing our best defender and keeper were out of the team, any team would. It would be insane not to and for them to play defensive. We have haven't played each other in nearly 60 years, both teams were going into the unknown.

Onana seems like a good goalkeeper.
Does he have the ability to move up a gear and be a top class goalkeeper.
What do you think @KirkDuyt
Can definitely make the move to a big league. He has insane reflexes and is strong in the air. Also not bad on the ball. Can't really name a glaring weakness. Well apart from the fact that he plays for Ajax of course.

I think he's set on making a move after this season. United could do worse than him if you want to replace DDG at some point.

Didn’t think Liverpool were the better team though, only played better last 20 minutes

A dirty win, Klopp’s words not mine..

I don’t think Liverpool were very good, but they were no worse than Ajax, really. A draw would have been a fair result.

Thanks he seems well rounded

What is Conte's CL record like?
Pants. I'm just going off memory and not actual stats so someone more statto-minded could correct me wrong, but I don't think his early Juventus record was good and he tanked in the groups last year.

First season at Juventus pretty good, then pretty bad.. In detail:

Shakhtar Donetsk arrived in Madrid without 13 first-team players after 19 positive Covid-19 tests throughout the club left them needing to call up youth-team players.

Said it earlier, Koke seems to offer very little in every game I've seen him.

Real group tasty now with all four teams feeling some heat already.

I'd trade a few of those Atletico and Barca goals for one good pasting of Real.
It's not gonna happen mate, at this point i'm starting to believe it's turned into an italy-germany situation, like last time we played when you beat yourselves while we just happened to be there :lol::lol:

Real Madrid vs Donetsk
To lose against Donetsk is no shame but it is a shame to lose against Donetsk if they are without 10 important players :wenger:

Ajax vs Liverpool
Can someone tell me why has Klopp substituted Salah, Mane and Firmino to the same time?

Midtjylland vs Atalanta
Atalanta are so amazing :D

Very rare that Liverpool batter a team. Never seen a team who grind out results so regularly.

I bet Thuram speaks Italian like a native having grown up there while his dad was playing. The security bloke probably thought it was a local lad trying it on.

No lanyard? Thought they always had those made out for games. Anyway, they wouldn't let Grealish in at St George's park the other day, so I guess these weird things do happen...

szoboszlai scored a nice goal yesterday.

Does anyone rate him here or is he more a Fifa type of hype player?

A man can dream :wenger:

Coman has been really impressive for Bayern. Scary to think he actually has to challenge Sane and Gnabry for playing time on the wing, their depth is insane. Kimmich fast maturing into world's best DM, if he isn't already there.

Too early to conclude, but City seems to have gotten a gem in Torres. Skilled dribbler with a rather direct style of play and seems to find the net at a decent clip.

Poor sods Real having to play CL games in their training camp, without the miedo escenico and clumsy referees a la Oliver? I feel for them. :wenger:

I haven't seen all too much from Joao Felix, but why exactly did he generate such an insane sum?

This was Comans best performance in a long, long while. CL goal aside, he's been really underwhelming in the last two seasons, most because an injury set him back whenever he had gained some momentum. We can only hope that he keeps this level up and doesn't revert to his recent playstyle of "get ball, attempt dribble, then either lose ball or cross it into no man's land".

While I fully agree with you, I was really surprised by his Champions League stats.
In now 31 CL games he has 10 goals and 11 assists. Quite some scorers for a still quite young (24) winger. Maybe he just doesn't really bother anymore in our dead/one horse race/farmers league ;)
