2021 American Civil War

Any details on the other three deaths? I just keep seeing 'medical emergencies'.
Some of these people haven't seen daylight in months. Could be anything.

Couldn't they have used rubber bullets or a taser first?
rubber bullets are really innacurate
Although the rubber bullets are felt hard to the touch, they are easily bent, flattened and distorted on impact. It must be recalled that there is no expectation of pinpoint accuracy with these bullets. It is expected that 80% of shots fired form a 30 cm circle (or better) at 20 m.
and tazer - to be honest I dont think thats gonna stop the other people coming in the room either as its a one shot weapon
Id have expected them to be shot long before they got where they did to be honest ...

Imagine this being how you die... you think you’re about to lead a valiant charge but you get dispatched and the only thing behind you is a bunch of neck beards recording your last breath with selfie sticks

What a grim way to go.

Tim Pool consistently has the very worst of hot-takes.

Hah, because of him I now know that republican voters are even more insane than I suspected. It's basically a coin flip. He talks about deescalation, but he just poured more fuel on the fire with that post

Were they there to riot or to compete to win the Darwin Award?

They're all neckbeards who've barely seen the outside world. I'm surprised they didn't die going up the steps.

I can't decide if this post is satire or not
Not at all.

You think this was a situation perfectly under control?

If she gets through then no doubt the rest would think "great idea" and try to follow. They'd probably then end up removing the barricade, so hundreds more flood in.

What happens next? they probably end up face to face with the people that they've been brainwashed into believing is the "enemy". Do you think people like the woman that died would act peacefully? not a chance.

4/5 guys with handguns isn't going to stop an angry mob crowd, only put a few of them down before they get over run. They did the right thing putting a stop to it before it got worse.

I think one allegedly tasered himself deliberately. Not sure what end was intended but he had a heart attack.

Sounds like a very American thing to do these days. Right up there with Co-vid parties.

So most of the people storming the building are in the group that think you should be alowed to shoot someone who trespasses on your property right? Or do i got it backwards?

Most likely they would be supporters of the castle doctrine for their private property, but also supporters of the first amendment.

Obviously they don't have a right to be in the public building in a restricted area just because they are using their free speech because the government is entitled to reasonable time, place and manner restrictions on speech.

Which its clearly reasonable to deny them access to the Capitol Building while in session and they can be trespassed by being removed from the premises - and that includes reasonable force.

Truly scary shit, as I had mentioned before my fear is that non negligible number of active duty officers in the military having such views.
Thankfully the upper echelon of the military apparently doesn’t have these views.

But get down into the more uneducated, mentally deficient ranks of some of the middle management in the military or the grunts, lunacy like this undoubtedly abounds.

There's been a few statements to that effect from congresspeople, and I imagine they can direct Capitol Police to initiate the efforts even if no other federal law enforcement agency wanted to. But also the FBI has stated that they are seeking any additional info on the people involved:

Of course, they barely need the tips. All the footage available online + phone data should be enough for them to identify hundreds. Basically there's been no definitive one statement of a US Attorney or the like to say that they're going in on this with 100% effort, but its still early.

Where do I go to submit tips again?

Anyone see a reason for removing the barriers here?

Well I'm more puzzled about why there is about 10 police officers to restrain thousands of these these protestors/rioters/traitors/terrorists/X

There needs to be big questions into the lack of security at this event.

wasn't he like an ardent leftist just a couple of years ago? He seems to have gone the grift route of "leftist who hates the left" ala Dave Rubin.

Been wondering a bit about this myself.

Theres the Hillsborough Syndrome, frightened or inept officers too scared to deny the 'crowd'.

Then the Conspiracy of Trump 'Placements' allowing disorder, threat, giving strength to the Rep. Politicians etc etc.

The 'Let's allow them to wander around until they get bored', visit the gift shop on their way out, while hiding the politicians and holding a line beyond which is sudden bloody death to deter the mob and protect the VIPs.

Louis DeJoy might be running the Capitol Police force.

There's 4 of them manning a waist height fence it was hardly going to stop the crowd either way. They'll have been told to fall back so moved it as they left.

It is bizzare though even comparing it to something normal like policing on match days in the UK. I remember getting caught up in a police charge of battons and horses once at Huddersfield and that was over a few lads kicking off not storming the halls of government.

The boots on the ground dont choose their number. It's up to the coc of the police.

Someone up top had a hand in this.

Naive to think otherwise.

The security protocol for a presidential tally where every senate member vp and potus inside the building is laughable.

You're right, but it's not a good look when you're opening the fence for the mob when you're supposed to be stopping them.

if this were BLM, you would have all 2000 police officers in APCs, body armour and holding AR15s, manning barb wire. You would have the national guard sieging the capital.

Instead, because it is all white people and MAGA, they're all hiding their racist asses and leaving a small group of officers to die on their own. It's shocking how anyone can still not see the difference.

Oh yeh no doubt the fence isn't going to stop the crowd if they want to move forward. Neither are the 10 officers there. But there's not really a reason for opening the fence and basically saying 'come on in'. The fence, as small and flimsy as it it, represents a boundary for the protestors at that point. Taking it away will just fuel the idea they can do what they want. It's not like they bring the fence to establish another barrier either, just open and walk the crowd through.
