Champions League Quarter Finals 2020/21 - Apr 6/7 & 13/14

Caught the last ten minutes of Liverpool Madrid match, they seemed to go out with a whimper

City vs PSG, like deciding if you want drink a poison or throw yourself under a train.

With the exception of a casual dislike of Neymar and Di Maria, I couldn't care less about PSG, have never met a PSG fan and probably never will. They're fine, a totally anodyne team, as opposed to three of my least favorite teams in any sport in the world.

feck-off Klopp  Now he needs to turn his attention to finishing above West Ham...

Madrid parked the bus, Liverpool just didn’t have the stones to break the windows!

Can't knock the effort but Madrid were better over two legs.

Guardian not holding back

Into added time we go, with City looking forward to the final whistle and a semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain. About to eliminate Liverpool at Anfield, Real Madrid will meet Chelsea in the other one.

Two teams owned by tyrannies for the purposes of sportswashing, one controlled by a Russian oligarch and another the club of Franco. And to think some say romance is dead, eh?

@giorno I don't see you sing songs about the glorious Ferland Mendy, that's disappointing.
He was shaky tonight. He has these weird moments were he just falls asleep sometimes. A couple tonight and the one from the clasico when he gave braithwaite the chance to try out for diving at the olympics...

Anyways, much better second half, shut them down and on to chelsea. The luck has to turn our way now

Michael Owen calling Liverpool “excellent” and “outstanding” tonight..

What a credible competition. The spirit of football has been devalued immeasurably

People like you are why your club will be stuck with the Glazers for a very long time.

You can actually trust Madrid to get a job done, not sure about Dortmund.

I thought Haaland would really show himself today but it was not be be. Thankfully Neymar and Mbappe are on ground to feck them over

Nothing special in that city team

Is there a duller affair in world football than City sitting on a lead? My God. I'd foul them just to get something to happen.

I have to assume that other professional footballers could just keep the ball in their own half, but feel some urge to play football, rather than keep ball.
Very astute observation. It's just a cheap tactic that 99% of other professional teams don't use out of sheer decency and love of the beautiful game. Nothing to do with their opposition refusing to play more openly out of fear to concede.

City, who spend most of the game on opposition half, attacking from every line, and scoring loads of goals = boring, because they don't share the ball. Very selfish!

Any other generic team that sit in their own half, afraid to commit, and waiting to hit on the counter = proper attacking football.

Without following them very regularly, I would say that Liverpool do not maintain that physical exuberance of 2 years ago. They were dangerous but it has not been a siege.
Madrid very passive but understandable after a very long week. Militao very well. Important for Odriozola to get a few minutes for his confidence.Good detail from Zidane
