I don't think so, as being English champions must always be the top priority. Only a change that removes clubs from the Premier League would be completely unacceptable for me. The structure of European competitions is secondary, though I agree that any closed shop in Europe would be worthless.
Though there is something going on, PSG aren't out for no reason same with Lyon, Marseille, Dortmund and Bayern.
This in a nut shell. I fecking despise the FA and UEFA for allowing a leveraged buy-out of United and having zero issue allowing two of the wealthiest states on the planet to fecking annihilate the game as we know it. And these arsewipes will now blame others for what THEY created.

When you have Middle Eastern countries buying up small clubs in PSG n City and upsetting the status quo of elite football you're going to get a lot of unhappy major clubs.

I think the clubs involved in this initiative know it's an unlikely starter. I think they're looking to put pressure on their respective leagues to award those who have the biggest draw the most (not altogether unreasonable, if a little dodgy) and UEFA who are seemingly wanting to send every halfway decent side in Europe to the the utter pits of the continent, presumably due to dodgy Azerbaijani leagues/clubs lining their pockets.
The PL will, they're just pissed off at not getting a cut and dictating the terms like they always.
Ah, I'd probably give it a watch, got nothing else to watch during the weekends anyway, or midweek. At least I won't have to watch us play Granada again
We have oil rich nations with horrendous human rights violations and other despicable sht they get up to taking over our clubs and everyone says nothing. In fact all people want is for their club to be next. Most competitions are bought by dodgey money now - see champions league. FIFA and UEFA are corrupt as fk. Basically a mafia organization as described by reporters.

In all seriousness, the counter to this would likely be that you’ll at least watch the earlier game in the season - did you watch West Ham vs Newcastle in the first half of the season?
secondly, all the Milan and Arsenal supporters will watch all their games. Probably results in more total viewers over an entire season.
The Athletic are saying its a counter proposal for the new restructured CL but the FA won't allow us to compete in it so we'd have to drop out of all domestic competitions to play in it basically. However that won't happen because the FA need us more than we need them
I’d honestly be giving up my season ticket. I think this type of competition, worked on in the background is a cheap and non-consideration of the fans.

As a Scottish Utd “Fan” I watched my team Hearts beat Bayern Munich, I watched Dundee Utd beat Barcelona and Aberdeen beat Real Madrid. In 1990 sky arrived and skewed the finances to the point that competition became impossible.
Football was simply better back then, the big teams would still win 8 times out of 10 but upsets were not impossible. It made the game worthwhile.
The super league is simply the end game, it was only a matter of time.

Since when City, Chelsea and Tottenham are elite clubs? or Atletico Madrid? If we were having this conversation 15 years ago, they would be nowhere close to this super league and would cry about it, yet now they want it. Is Juve afraid that Porto or Ajax would eliminate them again? Is City and Arsenal afraid that Monaco would eliminate them again? Are we afraid that we are going to lose against a Turkish team again? Well, that is why football has amassed such a big following, because of the Greeces, the Leicesters, the Portos, the Basaksehirs, the Atalantas of the world and not only because of the Reals or Liverpools.
Interesting if the clubs that remain boycott transfer dealings with the leaving clubs. Would the clubs be forced to prey on each other's players and academy youth I think they would take a second thought.

I have to disagree lad. 'We' had no power at all in this but the PL did. No matter what the fan protest were we had no real power to stop the takeover. However the people that literally run the League watched their biggest club being taken over, knowing that the debt was going to put onto the club. They did nothing. You want proof they could have done something then look at how they stopped Newcastle becoming the newest oil club. The fact is that the PL alone were the ones with the power to stop it. Do you really think the Glazer's gave a feck about fans opinions back then? What were you going to do, self-immolate outside Old Trafford while Joel lit a cigarette off your burning remains? The PL created this. In fact, if I recall, they literally created a new rule to stop the leveraged buy that happened to us after the fact.
On the other hand they let the likes of UAE and Roman to buy these clubs because they love the money they bring. The PL are equally as responsible for this happening via their short sighted money fuelled antics.
I agree with everything you've said otherwise. I hate those owners as much as you do but I would never blame the fans for that shit happening. The fault lies with UEFA and the individual league's governing bodies.
Imagine the domestic leagues without these teams? The whole concept of overseas TV rights goes for a toss right there. The sheer number of lawsuits the domestic leagues will face ?
Im really hoping that this is an extreme power play so these teams get more of a say in the CL set up. They surely have to know that this will bring a shit tonne of legal issues and sanctions against them to prevent it.
