This is a valid point but I would expect there will be a Premier League app rather than United going alone. That would evenly distribute the money amongst the clubs. I can’t believe it hasn’t happened yet as I would get rid of satellite TV if I could just get the football on one app.

I'm still trying to work out how some people came to the conclusion that nearly a third of the PL not caring where they finish wouldn't have affected the quality of the League.
Like if Arsenal are 25 points behind City they didn't think it would make any difference to the season, their games, if they didn't need to finish in the Top 4 and could finish 17th and still get the same rewards the next year. It would have killed the League.

This whole situation has Woodward and Joel Glazer's incompetence baked in to the very core.
It's one thing to be unhappy with UEFA, try and argue your case and look at alternative options. No-one would object to that. However we have Woodward publicly saying one thing and privately engaging in shady stuff. Heard that before?
What was telling, is that the financial backer of this plan hid behind the facade of JP Morgan rather than publicly stating their intent.
The Glazer's have destroyed the reputation of this club and lumped us in with the crazy money grabbing antics of the clubs used as puppet regimes by despots, crackpots and tyrants.
They need to be taken out of the club by any means necessary.

2 that are backed with almost infinite money and don't need the money.
2 that were lucky to be invited in the first place.
2 that are the biggest clubs in the country, with owners who feel that their club shouldnt have to do something so base as to qualify for a competition.

This is not the end of the European Super League. They are going to suggest some changes and return with a new model in a few years. At least that is my fear and expectation.

I'm really surprised that they caved in so fast, and this was a plan that they discussed for more than a decade with billions at stake?
They probably thought they could just waltz in, introduce the grand idea of a super league and get greeted with cheers and applause. Just shows how detached from reality these billionaires are.

This is what makes me feel like it's a been 1 big trick.
Offer us a worse case scenario and in the background rush through a new set of just rules just as bad.
Now we all feel happy and will accept whatever comes. It doesn't sound much different than the ESL honestly.

A serious discussion need to be had about how much money UEFA makes and how it is distributed.

At least we got an apology but this feels like damage control and too little too late from him. He fecked up, knew all of this beforehand and didn't even think to consult with the people at the club, Klopp, the players and most importantly the fans before he took that horrendous decision.

I think it would probably happen and part of their roadmap if this Super League took off ie. put the control back into the hands of the content producers. Just wouldn't have happened, just not on Day One.

I wish he had gone more into detail about the WHY, but as far as apologies goes, this is a good one. Manchester United won't get one like this.
I think the "your club" is just to emphasise that he's not speaking to them as a king.
So $5+ billion for United and she's all yours? There are probably only a handful of individuals who could afford to buy United then. Those worth over $100+ Billion.

The only thing that I like is that he’s apologised to klopp and the players. Not under any illusions they care beyond that and making money. They brought us success but they’ve messed up at every turn repeatedly and I very much doubt their commitment going forward in terms of investment.
Henry’s apology is obviously bullshit but at least he could sit there and try his luck with Liverpool supporters. The Glazers couldn’t even pretend to be sorry or read that script with a straight face.
