Germany have been excellent, playing proper football, instead of just playing on the counter throughout the tournament which has been the theme for most of the teams lately. If you have the quality just use it from game 1, instead of waiting for the latter games.
Portugal on the other hand have been shambles at the back. Cancelo's absence is quite visible in this game, as Semedo has been horrendous. Offensively they have done fine.
Overall a very entertaining game. Sets up an exciting day of final group games.

It does matter. If you lose against France and finish third place in group goal difference comes into play to be one of the four third best place finishers.
Why have we historically had so few Germans in our team? They always have that fighting attitude and plentiful of talent to go with it. Only had Bastian in the last 10-15 years..
