Typical Crashstappen fanSo Max again first in driver championship. So real question is. Bumper cars racing from Mercedes again next week or is it to soon?
That would be some marketing move! You won't be saying that next year watching the Max Verstappen Dutch GP 2022![]()
there was literally zero over takes that weren’t aided by newer tyres. As some drivers showed you can overtake , it requires greater skill but is possible. Also, the prognosis for pandemonium at the start was wrong, it was a nice race at the end.
it wasn’t pitting again which was the issue, it was the fact they put him into traffic. The guys on the wall and back at the factory will always have more info than Lewis, it's the right call today.
Lewis also said Max 'drove a fantastic race' and admitted he 'couldn't get anywhere near him', but I guess those quotes don't fit your agenda.Everybody says 2nd was the best Merc could hope for, but as Lewis said, Max just 'got lucky with traffic'.
Lucky, lucky boy
Is Lewis ever happy on the radio

Everyone has an agenda for some of the hammerheadsWhat agenda?
Good race or not, Lewis said Max was lucky.... On more than one occasion

True, I’m just hoping with the new cars next year, Ferrari can finally get there act together and offer some real competition to RB and the mercsIt works both ways to be honest.
Both set of fans are as bad as each other

I do agree.
I won't lie. I don't like Hamilton so I am an anyone but fan, but I really like Norris.
It's a shame talent like Norris and Leclerc have to rely on teams getting their acts together.
The fact that Merc and Red bull have talent pools, these guys will always find it tough to get a look in, so it needs more competition
Two of the most undeserving and untalented drivers I’ve seen in a long while.Imagine a team of Mazepin and Stroll . "Brats racing"
He was just bitching and moaning the whole race but in reality his car wasn’t as fast as the Red Bull’s. Just suck it and move on and complain less next time.Everybody says 2nd was the best Merc could hope for, but as Lewis said, Max just 'got lucky with traffic'.
Lucky, lucky boy
This is literally how every driver talks.Only when he wins. "Great job guys, absolutely stunning. Bono, the pit crew, the boys back at the factory, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Couldn't have done it without the amazing team."
Or else its just "fecks sake I said these tires were worn out, I have no grip Bono" etc.

he’s had a few early DNFs, some bad strategy calls too. when it all aligns for him though he’s clearly very quick and suited to that car.Brilliantly done by Gasly once again. I'm surprised actually that he's only 8th in the standings. Must be selective memory on my part (only remembering when he ends this high in a race).
Max/RB very impressive today, extremely strong weekend.
I enjoyed the race in the same way you might enjoy a good 0-0 draw. Potential strategies kept it interesting & the track/crowd was cool.
Hope they can tweak the DRS zones next year to allow closer following. This track seems more aero sensitive than most, as soon as anyone got within 3 secs they suffered badly. New regs should help with that.
Merc are usually very strong at Monza. Should be another close battle next weekend.
not their finest moment, Bottas told not to go for fastest lap, he asked why, he was pissed and went for the fastest lap, for once actually showed some balls.Merc crying over the radio to Bottas to not take fastest lap was the highlight of the race. My god the cringe.

I thought they strategy was OK , they tried to do something, it never worked, pit one was slow, lost nearly a second, pit 2 was badly timed, needed to be a lap or 2 later, who knows if they had got them right.
For the first time this season, I can see that RB really have Mercedes rattled.
Yes we know the high and low rake each team are using gives the advantage to RB, along with other changes, but Mercedes are definitely on the back foot.
Agree with you, Max could be well ahead. If not for Baku, Silverstone and Hungary, I’d be well and truly calling this season for Max. He’d arguably be 75 points ahead by now.
I have a feeling that at some point this year, karma will bite merc in the arse.
Either Lewis will get taken out like max did at Hungary or they’ll have an engine blow up like Schumacher at Suzuka in 2006. Too much has gone in their favour.
it wasn’t pitting again which was the issue, it was the fact they put him into traffic.
wait 1/2 laps longer and he’s passed the ricciardo train and flying in free air.
the minute they put him behind other cars completely destroyed the under cut advantage, that’s why he’s annoyed.
he said himself the tyres were fine to keep pushing, they had zero reasons to pit him that early other than they miscalculated it and fecked it up.
Agree with you, Max could be well ahead.
I have said it before, but I think Mercedes have given up on the season, maybe it the rule changes, the high rake thing, I am not sure.
Maybe they have something big planned for next season, something to blow the others out of the water, only time will tell.
.
I don’t think they’ve given up, but clearly the technical rules this year have limited their car. they’ve been handed a handicap that they literally cannot change or improve, so the RB design will always be better for certain tracks.Agree with you, Max could be well ahead.

I do agree that Adrian at Red Bull is such a huge thing I'm surprised its not talked about more, this guy has bags of experience of ground effect cars and he's probably been sitting at his drawing board for 2 years working on something whilst the rest of the equally capable team worked on the 2020/21 cars. Let's be honest the regulation changes this year swung massively toward Red Bull and were aimed at taking away Mercedes advantage, with Merc seemingly not that bothered about winning at all costs it's lead to a big chance for Red Bull/Max.
It feels like Max's year and it won't be his last title either. Max will win the WDC and Mercedes will probably win the WCC just because Perez blows hot and cold and lately mostly cold.
Next year is big for the sport, if we get to the mid way point with one team dominating then it's going to piss off fans again.
