Yeah they didn't want to make the call unless it was wrong and Hamilton stayed out. By the time it was obvious it was the wrong call they have to stick with it as Hamilton had made up so much time then he wouldn't come back out in front of him.
The McClaren team is as fault there. Mercedes told Hamilton he was coming in whether he liked it or not. The driver shouldn't be given the choice when they know more rain is coming.

I didn't hear his pit tell him that the rain was getting worse.
Bit of inexperience, but McLaren should have made the call, not the driver in that situation.

This year has really made me fall in love with F1 again. Other than the farce of Spa, it’s been excellent

Such a shame for Norris, deserved a win although I fancied Lewis had a chance to take him without the rain. The rain benefitted max more than anyone but he or red bull made the early correct call. He moved from 7th to 2nd.
Can't complain about the race not being entertaining this weekend. Just needed Norris to win to make it a perfect race.

they should have played it safe but it wasn’t raining that hard and he was covering off hamilton no problem.

Exactly this. I'm disappointed for him, but he should have listened, and his box should have been more firm and clear with him.
Norris said no couple of times against his pit crew for going in. Their pit crew cave in for Lando.
What an exciting end just wish Lando hadn't taken the risk. Especially as Lewis came in, he'd have been guaranteed a podium at least if he pitted

Not Landos fault, he isn't the one with the weather radar, they should have been more forceful, they were paralysed by fear of pitting and Hamilton not and that being the right call

Max’s race was fairly average until the rain, Red Bull nailed the call on timing.
Hamilton will have to take a penalty somewhere, I suspect they will do it at Mexico which Max will dominate anyway.

I'm surprised he got driver of the day, he was doing well but made such a costly error not to pit, he would have at least got a podium if he had

he was handling lewis fine, nobody could have known it was about to get heavier - commentary even said it was going away at one point.
when you’re winning your first race and there’s 2/3 laps left you don’t pit just in case. hamilton had the benefit of knowing he was never gonna overtake him anyway so worst case was 2nd.
lucky for him the rain suddenly got heavier and it left lando stranded.
if they pitted him early onto inters and it didn’t rain heavier then he loses his first win.
