Premiere League Matchday 10

Love the cheers at getting away with the Hause smash, then getting a red there instead

Unwarranted red. There were 2 Villa players on the side who could easily have closed down any goal scoring opportunity.

West Ham player would have got to the ball first and even if it’s not a great angle it’s still an opportunity to score

West Ham would be a genuine shout for a top 4 spot if they weren't likely to go deep in the Europa. Also in carling Cup.

Sheer amount of games will kill them off by March.
The same was said about Wolves the season before last and they were mathematically in the top four race up until match week 37.

I don't think they'll get it but I think teams busting the season after a European qualification is a bit of a myth, the only ones that do are teams that are in a false position they were never going to maintain regardless (ala Burnley).

Thought the elbow was a red, the second challenge was clumsy but a bit harsh. Either way villa should be down to ten men following the two incidents so the refs got it about right.

The elbow looked much more a red than this one for denying a goal scoring opportunity
Correct.

The angle was such it would have been difficult to score.

Antonio to make it 3-1 on the counter. Put your money on it.

Easier than Ronaldos (though obviously he’s a different animal).

Seriously though, the rule is opportunity, not easy opportunity. No Villa defender is stopping him get a shot away if he hits it or even takes a quick touch then hits it. Once they go to VAR, you know they’ll follow rules to the letter 9/10

Should Bowen even have been on the pitch after that throw on McGinn? Questionable?
