They aren’t going to rule against him. And it’s going to CAS either way. If they hand Hamilton the win, Red Bull obviously aren’t just going to accept it either.

it’s max i feel sorry for. he should be spraying champagne at anything that moves and shouting “world champion, bitch!” into the faces of children but instead he’s stuck in the back of the red bull trailer, piling cash into brown envelopes. it’s a crying shame.
Surely Horner will help him with some licking the envelopes..

... and anything else to hand.

Sainz team should probably lodge a complaint too, why give max the chance to win, yet not give sainz a shot at Max for 2nd?

Please just read the facts of the situation. There is more to it than just lapped cars passing and safety cars as a whole.

They should have let all cars pass but we all want to see racing though? You rather have it finish behind the safety car. Feels strange to want that as a racing fan.

How is it a farce? Races are decided by safety cars all the time.
They let 5 cars unlap themselves to remove a 10sec+ gap between Hamilton and Verstappen. They should've either let all cars unlap themselves or none. Both of those correct decisions would've led to a Hamilton win.

The race was not decided by the safety car but by the FIA.

They already had 55 laps of racing and Hamilton was miles ahead. The arbitrary the last lap has to be a racing one is nonsense.

Get them both out on the track again. Five lap shoot out. After five pints each. The FIA not doing this is a farce. Worse than the FAI.

Was trying to avoid the result, so I can watch tonight, but ny brother in law who's expecting a baby text me the result. I had my phone data off and just checked his message incase it was about the baby. He doesnt even watch f1 normally. So mad.

Will watch the highlights tonight now, have seen the first lap incident. From what I've read, sound like FIA cheated lewis out of a deserved victory and got what they wanted. Schmachers 7 world titles not being beaten, by a black man who will wear a rainbow helmet.

Gutted for lewis. It's a new dawn in f1 racing, rules of engagement are different now. Its lunging down in the inside, pushing people off track and bumper cars. Shame the likes of Senna, mansell, piquet and schmacher arent around to stick max into a wall.

Both teams are heading back to the stewards in 5 mins according to the coverage on C4.

FOM will probably live stream the case when it goes CAS and turn it into a PPV.

Feels strange to want a 1-sided lap to decide the title then too, no?

Or do you think changing the rules to have allowed Hamilton to pit and have them both on a fair 1-lap shoot out would be a step too far?

Soooooo, why didn't Hamilton pit like Max?

Because he’d have lost track position when the rules dictated that the race should’ve finished behind the SC, therefore throwing away the championships

Why are they complaining about it now then?

edit: I do agree about the unfairness but that’s always been the case. The way people are going on about it is as if they all of a sudden created a safety car today.
They are not to be honest. People have complained about it for years.

Todays issue is with the application. Or non application of the SC withdrawal rules.

Seems to me though the rules are ambiguous and Mercedes won’t win. The rules only say all cars needs to unlap themselves if all cars are told to.

That happens all the time in formula 1. It’s terrible luck but Verstappen had his fair share of that too this season.

They didn't apply their own rules when allowing 5 cars to unlap themselves so they could have a last lap race.

Well that's the argument the FIA would no doubt use.

Because the order was very specific about which cars unlap.

It throws up all sorts of questions though about the future rules. Who decides what cars unlap? On what basis?
