Romelu Lukaku | Chelsea

Once the dust settles, is this as bad as Kepa vs Sarri ? I don't think so. He just needs to put his head down and work hard which I think he will do.

I’d say it’s worse than keppa and sarri as that was in the moment adrenaline running through keppa, whereas this is calculated by lukaku

Ring Newcastle. Easiest way out.
I'd be surprised if he was okay with missing at least the rest of this and next year's Champions League campaign. Realistically probably more than that - I would definitely bet against Newcastle finishing top four next year.

Just classic Lukaku all this ain't it? I remember Everton fans having to put up with such interviews every time he went on International duty.

considering he speaks eight languages, most of them fluently
That number goes up every 5 pages!
But being the scholar of the spoken tongue that he seem to be, the latest rumor also has him down as speaking fully fluent Bullcrap like it was his mother tongue. So the correct number should be 9 for the time being. :wenger:

Lukaku

I remember he did an interview when he was at United and he said he spoke seven, and he's since learned Italian

If his career tanks, he can be the new protocol droid Boba requested in the Book of Fett.

Tuchel has handled this situation beautifully in my opinion up to this point. He has avoided throwing his player under the bus while at the same time penalizing him and showing who holds the ultimate authority by dropping him out of the squad. A decision that paid dividends against the scousers

But jeez does he have himself to blame if only a little, there are 2 scenarios here:

A : he specifically authorized his purchase and they gone for him with his blessing , while completely being aware of lukaku's past behavior and him obviously not fitting their style and splashing a record fee on the lad.

Or B : he was forced upon him by the board who wanted a new shinning star to spearhead the team with little to no regard to how he fit the playing style or the team's chemistry which begs the question, why didn't he make this clear to the media that romelu wasn't his choice so when things inevitably go awry he would have this excuse to fall back on.

Also its astonishing that this is the "player" who holds the record for accumulated transfer fees in the history, a player who has in point in his Career ever been considered among the top 5 of his position.

Despite certain comments, I think the situation is getting worse.

Tuchel did very well to exclude him from the team.

But Lukaku didn't apologize and I don't think he will.
The supposed messages to the American friend and the episode on Facebook make people fear the worst.
This behavior does not seem to have a solution.

If Chelsea and Tuchel accept this behavior it can destroy the environment in the team.

I would be tough, or he shows up publicly, apologizes and commits to the team, or be treated as Kepa was treated in his day.

Surely he's talented, but it really speaks volumes of him that he listed Flemish and Dutch as two separate languages, guess he also likes to take pride in being a polyglot

Tuchel is a class act, a genuinely great manager and a fine person.
I was surprised why was a manager like him interested in a man child like Lukaku who probably has the worst first touch in entire Europe.

I know less than 0.000001% of what Tuchel knows about football (probably less) and I could see that bringing Lukaku back was a terrible decision, so I'm not sure what he or the Chelsea board saw beyond the raw numbers that made them think he was the right fit. Tuchel's first major mistake as Chelsea manager and he's lucky it's come at a time when he still has equity in the bank with the fans and the board. Lukaku is the last person you want as your talisman and leader for the kind of high-intensity unit Tuchel was building, both in terms of personality and profile.

He's such a grown ass man.

What an absolute man child this guy is. Inter fans don't even like him and prefer Dzeko.

He's going the Michael Owen route of alienating every fanbase he played for. What a fool.

I genuinely think he was either forced upon him or was a panick buy, but you're right he's seems to be a fine person and has handled it very well so he might still be able to make it work
