"Up to 11 players now want to leave United after becoming disillusioned with life at the club."

If any of that was true then why the feck did he insist publicly that Lingard, Henderson, VDB would all get game time then not play them? He was lying to them and himself because he didn't have the bottle to tell the nob to find a new club or spend the next season in the reserves until his contract runs out. There's a load of team's that would have taken Lingard for £10m last summer.
Not sure what he said directly to them, but as long as they are here he has to back them openly. Also apparently Everton wanted VdB but weren’t even prepared to cover his wages. Then who makes the decision to still let him go? The manager? The money men? A lot of questions and old mistakes still being made repeatedly.

When we sold Mata and Matic to United I remember quite a few Chelsea fans being quite unhappy about it. But now in 2022 seeing two 33-year olds still under contract at MU seems surreal. United must be the biggest money wasters in modern football. Not to menton Phil Jones with his once in two years appearances. This is just incredible level of mismanagement.

Everyone that doesn't want to be here can feck off. That goes for every single one of them overpaid wankers. This is the problem we have with the current group of players, they don't understand what it is to wear the United shirt. Far too many players think they've made it already when in reality they've achieved close to nothing. I'm looking at the 0.012% clique.

Can anyone please tell me who is this Chris Wheeler? What is his credibility? He has became relevant lately.

Pogba, Lingard, Mata, Martial, DVB, Henderson, Baily, Cavani, Ronaldo all seem like safe bets to be gone next season but I worry you're left with Maguire, AWB, Shaw, Rashford, Sancho, McTominay to build from for the foreseeable future and they're all part of the problem, we could do to lose a couple of that group too as I think some of the attitude problems stem from that group.

Big job to sort the squad out while also addressing the midfield problem and Ronaldo/Cavani going.
On the plus side, the new manager has less to worry about with getting rid of more players, and has a sort of clean slate to make his own signings. The board will be forced to give a good transfer budget, cause there are players leaving (frees up wages) and obviously the new manager needs to make his signings.

Finally a bit of good news, hopefully we press the reset button. I´m beyond tired of these lot.

Tbf, these stories always come out at United after every new manager. Even Ole was accused of doing nothing but telling them to run all the time.

It is nothing unique or outrageous to me as players who don't want to stay will leave anyway after every new appointment.

What is tricky with our situation is though that this guy is only here for 6 months and that would complicate things a lot more.

Precisely. Solskjaer was either completely gutless, or emotionally retarded and brainless.
My money is on gutless.

Mane presses, runs, creates, and causes havoc much more than Rashford. Ask any neutral who they would rather have starting in their team and I'd say most would choose Mane over Rashford.

Now go back to the first point. We overpay a lot for underacheievers and generally lazy players. Rashford is on twice the money that Mane is on...
Because most people don’t actually watch that much football. Mane has been shite for a long time.

Just listened to Mitten talk about the situation post Wolves game, he said Rangnick didn’t want Carrick, McKenna or Perth to leave, and losing three coaches overnight and replacing them with coaches that have no PL experience has been difficult behind the scenes.

Carrick was a big loss imo. He did a great job as caretaker and he knew what formation to play to get the best out of the squad. I was impressed with the tweaks he made.

Fair enough, but then I have to question why he didn’t look to replace them with PL experienced coaches.

Players I would like to keep:
Shaw (as long as he pulls his finger out)
Varane (class player)
Fred (can do a job with the right set up)
Sancho (horrible start to his Utd career, but he'll come good)
Greenwood (if we can coach some of the selfishness out of him)
VDB (even if just to see what he can do given a run of games)

Everyone else can go if they want.
Its so serious I wouldn't even care too much if some of these guys went on the cheap. Just get rid, rip the plaster off in one go.

Yes that's a more important point than has been made out up to now. And it's not been possible to get top level assistants due to his interim position.

Accepting Rangnick is one thing for our set of snitches and mental midgets, but having to work with a clearly inexperienced new coaching team of MLS rejects to back him up may just have been a revolution too far.

Well he didn’t, Ralf came out right away and said he’s not going to try and convince anyone to stay at Manchester United, which basically means sign a contract and we’ll talk about game time, not please stay and I’ll maybe play you.

Clubs aren’t going to want to pay a players wages who looks like he hasn’t got the ability to play in the PL, and they were obviously trying their luck with a cheeky ask. We shouldn’t be paying anyone to pay elsewhere but when you sign big players on big contracts then make them worse, no one is going to be in demand. We need to cut players off a lot sooner than 3 or 4 seasons of shitness, and that is why I’m pissed off with Solskjaer for not doing something about the obvious issues we’ve got during his 3 years.

Fair enough, but then I have to question why he didn’t look to replace them with PL experienced coaches.
Who would be willing to come for 6 months only? That was the issue - an interim manager really could do with some continuity of staff because you can't put in place a top coaching team for a few months.

Fair enough, but then I have to question why he didn’t look to replace them with PL experienced coaches.

My guess is mid-season availability and Ralf hadn’t been a manager in years and therefore his coaching team was disbanded and were probably unavailable due to being committed elsewhere. The closest thing Ralf had to an assistant coach, Lokomotiv Moscow offered him Ralfs job and he took it.

Fair enough, but then I have to question why he didn’t look to replace them with PL experienced coaches.
We can only presume no one wanted to join a sinking ship and Ralf wanted people who know his system and can maybe explain things he wants in a different way?

Have you watched the games? Did you hear Shaw's comments?

It's pretty obvious that the squad has people pulling in different directions and it's way more than one or two. Shaw was talking about the players on the pitch, not even the guys who's issues are well documented. There is clearly a divide and the reports of cliques have been around since Mourinho.

Everything in this report lines up with what we can see on the pitch. I can believe every word.

Edit: Sorry quoted the wrong post

Do you not think this is a natural result of the board's randomly chopping and changing strategies though? If they actually articulated some sort of clear plan and didn't accept a season being written off in October every fecking year then the players would be able to work out where and whether they fit in.

If you look at someone like Van Der Beek it seemed like Ole didn't really have a plan for him, Carrick maybe thought he could fit him in somewhere dependent on form and fitness, and now Rangnick hasn't got a plan for him again. And he knows that if he stays until the summer yet another managerial flip flop is slated in so he could easily go another 6 months before he knows where he stands and before you know it he's 2 and a half years into his United career and hardly got a sniff. If I were him I'd be frustrated and looking for an exit too. It's a completely ludicrous plan the board came up with to succeed Ole and I think it's natural that some players are dispirited.

We should never ever accept that the season is over before we've even hit the 2nd part of the year, it's totally ridiculous for a club of our stature. And yet it's happened more than once in the last few years, just pathetic.

We still have Phelan though. Wish the club would bring in a few explayers to help behind the scenes. Rio teaching the defenders, scholes teaching the midfielders etc. Bayern have done that for years. AC Milan did it when they had their successful period under ancelotti. Have people in around the club who understand the dna of the club and the standards that are required.

Let's be honest, OGS was out of his league - he had no qualification as a manager for one of the top managerial jobs in world football. He was just happy he was there at all.

Pretty much this. De Gea could stay if only he can work on his presence in the box... but that's a big if at the moment.

Definitely agree on Fred. He shouldn't be sold by any means until the right midfield is built. Then he can go or accept role of energetic sub as sometimes he's capable of winning midfield battles by just fussing around.

Also quality control in defensive block is much needed, but that's when midfield is somewhat functional.

Phelan who does what exactly?

Also what even does the DNA of the club mean? If anything it's attacking football with a team comprising several players brought through the youth set up. Is this even feasible any more though? Too much is put on the DNA of our club.

I don’t watch that much Liverpool but I can’t remember the last good game Mane had.
He hasn’t been great lately not the levels we had seen before when he was arguably Liverpool’s best player but he still gives a lot of work rate and gets into goal scoring positions, I’d say he’s substantially better that Rashford still..

Shaw has had one good season in 4/5? And Donny has one good game in 4/5. If he was our best midfielder in training he'd be getting game time.

Mane is leagues ahead of Rashford

I have wanted him gone because I felt that he was not good enough but this also puts the whole thing in a different light. He simply did not have the strength to drop some players like Rashford. He should have. I hope RR drops anyone who is not following his instructions and not putting in an effort. Be it Ronaldo or anyone else.

It seems like he has already done that with Fernandes, Shaw, Rashford and WB to name four.

We'd make a very good case study of mismanagement.

How many coaches will want to leave their clubs in midseason to work for a manager who won't be there in six months time? It's not a very compelling proposition.

As great as they were, none of them have coaching badges or the desire to become coaches. It’s long hours and a thankless task when the team aren’t winning, look at how Carrick and McKenna have been treated.

They also know nothing of modern systems and coaching techniques. Part of the reason Scholes lasted about 4 games at Oldham was because he would stand in training and tell the lads to do this: (pings a 70 yard pass to the forwards feet) and they would just stare at him and explain that they couldn’t do that and Scholes’ response was “why not?”.

Anyone thinking we can just have a clear out is kidding themselves. Glazers care far more about money than football and they will not allow the club to lose money by getting rid of contracted over paid players at any price. Ole’s weak character created a tail wagging the dog syndrome allowing these players too much power.

Years of Club mismanagement at the very top has brought us to where we are now. Yes, we do need to get rid of the dozen or so bad apples but in truth this is likely to take years. I have total support for RR, but does the club? If allowed a completely free rein I believe Ralph, or someone with that level of professionalism and tactical experience/nous could get us back to where the fans want us to be within even a year or two. However, under the current regime, no manager will be given the freedom to make the decisions needed to put football before money.

Can we sell all the players and start again? Other than probably Greenwood and Shaw, I wouldnt mind any player been sold by the club.

This is the thread we need. Jesse Lingard for me, second bet is Henderson. The fact Lingard is close to the English press and keeps posting pics in a West Ham shirt despite knowing that it's boiling piss is quite telling in my opinion.
